Whom are You Following; Jesus, or an LDS Prophet?

18 September

If nothing else from this lesson is remembered beloved, remember what our Lord God has told us in His word. Hebrews 13:5 declares –

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

Today we’re publishing our new page for an all important Mormon topic; ‘Follow the Prophet’. We published an article on this about 3.5 yrs ago, but since then the amount of  attention the Church has given to this warrants our time, and updates with many of the things they’ve said.

We’ve listed some of the contents of our new page below, but for future reference you can find it in full on the sidebar over to the right.

In all the talks, seminars, reminders, and mandates the Church has put out on this topic, it’s of great interest they all have one thing in common.

Not one time did they mention what Jesus said, ‘Come, follow Me’

Luke 18:22 “Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.”

The phrase, ‘follow Me’, and its variation thereof, is found in the New Testament twenty-one times. Nineteen of those are in the Gospels, the other two in Acts, and Revelation. I’d venture to say it might be one of the more popular phrases throughout all the world. This fact makes it even more dubious the Church hasn’t used it, and reason enough my friends, to ask the obvious question. Why?

Pray with us won’t you? Pray Mormons would wonder why their church only uses this phrase when referring to their prophet, and not the Lord Christ Jesus.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle

Journal of Discourses 7:374-375; “Have we not a right to make up our minds in relation to the things recorded in the word of God…We have not the right…God placed Joseph Smith at the head of this Church; God has likewise placed Brigham Young at the head of this Church…We are commanded to give heed to their words in all things, and receive their words as from the mouth of God…”
