The False Prophecy of the LDS 2nd Declaration

08 June

Blacks get the priesthood newspaper“…Aware of the promises made by the prophets and presidents of the Church who have preceded us that at some time, in God’s eternal plan, all of our brethren who are worthy may receive the priesthood…He has heard our prayers, and by revelation has confirmed that the long-promised day has come…”

James 1:22, 2:8-9; “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.”

The Apostle Paul warned us of the many who will come in Jesus’ name proclaiming a gospel, but in reality, are false teachers.

2 Timothy 3:13; “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

The LDS Church has built its entire corporation on just such a system. They proclaim they believe in Christ, but the Jesus they preach isn’t the Jesus of the Bible. We can know this based on the lie they’ve told in their declaration. Thirty-eight years ago this month, the LDS Church received word from God that all worthy men, regardless of color, were now acceptable in the eyes of the Lord.

The Church published this 2nd declaration in 1978, however, their prophets and teachers had always prophesied blacks wouldn’t have the priesthood until the last person on earth had been born. Clearly, this hasn’t happened!

1978 Blacks receive priesthood June-9-1978-Priesthood-AnnouncementSalt Lake City, Utah June 9, 1978

On This Day in Mormon History

June 1, 1978 – Spencer W. Kimball’s proposal to resolve “the Negro issue,” is sustained by apostles after prayer circle in Salt Lake temple. This answer ends policy since 1852 of denying priesthood to those of black African ancestry. Urgency of Kimball’s inquiry involves upcoming dedication of temple in Brazil, where centuries of racial intermarriage have always posed problems in administering LDS ban on priesthood to those of black African ancestry. Kimball later describes the meeting: “I offered the final prayer and I told the Lord if it wasn’t right, if He didn’t want this change to come in the Church that I would be true to it all the rest of my life, and I’d fight the world against it if that’s what he wanted . . .” First Presidency announces this change on June 9, and general conference accepts it on September 30. This announcement becomes “Document 2” in 1981 edition of D&C. First Presidency secretary Francis M. Gibbons writes that this change “seemed to relieve them of a subtle sense of guilt they had felt over the years.”

On a warm Saturday afternoon in early June of ’78, I ran out to get the newspaper off my grandmother’s front porch. The paper had been tossed up on the stairs with the front page in full view. As I stared at the headlines tears run down my face as I read the all important announcement:

Prophet has Revelation: Blacks now accepted into the Church

I’m not sure how long I sat there before my grandmother came outside to ask if I was okay. I never did read the article, but the brief headline told me all I needed to know.

I wasn’t sad because blacks were finally let into the Church, my own heritage is replete with black Welsh ancestors, so it wasn’t a matter of me not wanting them to be part of the Church. Each look in a mirror was a reminder of where we came from. My tears were from fear.

The day before Spencer W. Kimball received his revelation, I hadn’t done anything differently to warrant God’s sudden favor upon me. If He could change His mind like this, what else could He change His mind about in the future?

I was already wondering why He had changed His mind about polygamy. Up until three years before Kimball’s theophany, people from the other side of my family (my mother’s side) were still living with the effects of Mormon polygamy. My great-grandfather was born into a very prolific Mormon polygamous family, and lived until 1975.

My fear/concern stemmed from the wishy-washy prophecies I’d been fed all my life. It had always been my understanding black people wouldn’t be acceptable to God until all of humanity had been born. Certainly there were people even at that moment who had just been given birth to! How many times would this god change his mind?

Making matters worse, they lied in the Church run newspaper, Deseret News, by stating past prophets had prophesied all men would one day be granted the priesthood. The rest of the untold story is how Brigham Young said everyone would receive the priesthood only after everyone in the world had been born.

Even now while reflecting on the Church’s conflicting past, and realizing how wrong they’ve been brings no comfort. It breaks my heart that my people are still being deceived all these years later. I can’t count the number of family members who’ve died since 1978 believing in this false god. What I do know is how I’ve witnessed countless Mormons who’ve packed their spiritual bags, and left Mormonism for the real Jesus! PTL!

Today we’ve listed a few of the false prophecies of the Church regarding this topic. We’re asking that Christians pray for those still caught in the nets of this false ideology, and come to a saving knowledge of Christ Jesus and Him crucified!

You can even read how they’re still aligning themselves to this ideology in their canon. We posted on this just a couple of days ago in the article ‘What the Book of Mormon and Pearl of Great Price say about Race’.

Mark of Cain to be Removed After All Black People are Born

Journal of Discourses 2:143; “When all the other children of Adam have had the privilege of receiving the Priesthood, and of coming into the kingdom of God, and of being redeemed from the four quarters of the earth, and have received their resurrection from the dead, then it will be time enough to remove the curse from Cain and his posterity. He deprived his brother of the privilege of pursuing his journey through life, and of extending his kingdom by multiplying upon the earth; and because he did this, he is the last to share the joys of the kingdom of God.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, December 3, 1854

Five Years Later It’s the Same Story…

Journal of Discourses 7:290-291; “You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind. … the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin. Trace mankind down to after the flood, and then another curse is pronounced upon the same race—that they should be the “servant of servants;” and they will be, until that curse is removed…

How long is that race to endure the dreadful curse that is upon them? That curse will remain upon them, and they never can hold the Priesthood or share in it until all the other descendants of Adam have received the promises and enjoyed the blessings of the Priesthood and the keys thereof. Until the last ones of the residue of Adam’s children are brought up to that favorable position, the children of Cain cannot receive the first ordinances of the Priesthood. They were the first that were cursed, and they will be the last from whom the curse will be removed. When the residue of the family of Adam come up and receive their blessings, then  the curse will be removed from the seed of Cain, and they will receive blessings in like proportion.” –  Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, October 9, 1859

Utah papers said this –

Deseret News, June 10, 1978, p. 1A, p. 80; “The announcement Friday fulfilled statements made by most LDS Church presidents since Joseph Smith that blacks would one day obtain the full blessings of the church, including the priesthood. Speaking against slavery, Brigham Young once told the Utah Legislature, “. . . the day will come when all that race (blacks) will be redeemed and possess all the blessings which we now have”.

That my friends, was a lie.

Brigham Young declared, and quite emphatically I might add, if blacks are allowed into the Church, it’ll be led into complete destruction. Read what he had to say in his speech to the Legislature on February 5, 1852 – [all spelling as in original]

“…Let this Church which is called the Kingdom of God on the earth; we will sommons the first presidency, the twelve, the high counsel, the Bishoprick, and all the elders of Isreal, suppose we summons them to apear here, and here declare that it is right to mingle our seed, with the black race of Cain, that they shall come in with us and be pertakers with us of all the blessings God has given to us. On that very day, and hour we should do so, the preisthood is taken from this Church and Kingdom and God leaves us to our fate. The moment we consent to mingle with the seed of Cain the Church must go to desstruction,— we should receive the curse which has been placed upon the seed of Cain, and never more be numbered with the children of Adam who are heirs to the priesthood untill that curse be removed.

Therefore I will not consent for one moment to have an african dictate me or any Bren. with regard to Church or State Government. I may vary in my viewes from others, and they may think I am foolish in the things I have spoken, and think that they know more than I do, but I know I know more than they do. If the Affricans cannot bear rule in the Church of God, what buisness have they to bear rule in the State and Government afairs of this Territory or any others?

What the Gentiles are doing we are consenting to do. What we are trying to do to day is to make the Negro equal with us in all our privilege.

My voice shall be against all the day long…” – Typescript by H. Michael Marquardt, Brigham Young Addresses, Ms d 1234, Box 48, folder 3, dated Feb. 5, 1852, located in the LDS Church Historical Department, Salt Lake City, Utah
