Encouraging Mormon Youth with Tools of the Occult

10 September

Ensign, ‘Be Anxiously Engaged,’ October 2012; “…In your morning prayer each new day, ask Heavenly Father to guide you to recognize an opportunity to serve one of His precious children. Then go throughout the day with your heart full of faith and love, looking for someone to help. Stay focused, just like the honeybees focus on the flowers from which to gather nectar and pollen. If you do this, your spiritual sensitivities will be enlarged and you will discover opportunities to serve that you never before realized were possible.

I know that if you do this—at home, at school, at work, and at church—the Spirit will guide you, and you will be able to discern those in need of a particular service that only you may be able to give. You will be prompted by the Spirit and magnificently motivated to help pollinate the world with the pure love of Christ and His gospel.” – M. Russell Ballard

Jeremiah 10:2; “Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.”

Whether the Church would like to acknowledge it or not, the truth is self evident. Mr. Ballard’s analogy of the honeybee is a sign of a false teacher.

I found the image we’re using today in a Pinterest page for one of the Church’s youth groups, ‘Beehive’.

The bee is a symbol of fertility in the occult, and its use is prevalent throughout Masonry, as well as other cultures.

We’ve written many times on why Christians should never use bees, or beehive symbols in any type of imagery. While many people are unaware, it’s important for us as believers to understand God made no allowances for His followers to utilize anything He made as a good luck charm, or symbol of worship. Bees, and beehives represent a Greek fertility goddess. Masons and Mormons use them as a symbol of industry.

As bright as Mr. Ballard was, it’d be hard to believe he didn’t know about the idolatry involved with this one.

Tomorrow we’re taking a closer look at this occult symbol. In the meantime, please, remember to pray for the young girls this talk was addressed to who are only 12-13 years old.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
