Church Handbook Reveals Shunning and Uncertain Chaos in Mormon Heaven

Isaiah 45:22 “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.”

General Handbook of Instructions, 1999, pp. 67, 75;

“Members Whose Close Relatives Belong to Apostate Groups

Bishops and their counselors must take exceptional care when issuing recommends to members whose parents or other close relatives belong to or sympathize with apostate groups.

Such members must demonstrate clearly that they repudiate these apostate religious teachings before they may be issued a recommend.

p.75

Status of Children When a Sealing Is Canceled or Revoked

Children who are born in the covenant or sealed to their parents remain so even if the sealing of the parents is later (1) canceled or (2) revoked by the excommunication or name removal of either parent.

Children who are born after their parents’ sealing is canceled or revoked are not born in the covenant. These children need to be sealed to their parents after their parents’ blessings are restored (if applicable) and any other obstacles are removed.”

Jude 3-4; “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”

While looking around for a specific reference in the Church’s Handbook, I came across our references today. I’ll use my other references for another time! Ha!

These two items serve as a great reminder to everyone as to why we should only looking in God’s word for our daily direction. When we look outside of that parameter, we loose our way to the cross as Alistair Begg once said.

While the two references have nothing to do with each other, they do give us an inside peek at the chaos inside of Mormonism.

1.Why is it anyone’s business who we’re related to? Why would our righteousness be determined upon the actions of others? The Bible tells us God looks at the heart of each individual. Christianty is about your personal relationship with the Lord, and salvation has no bearing on whether or not your Aunt Sally gave money to a group of individuals LDS, inc. doesn’t approve of.

This type of behavior promotes shunning!

2.This particular submission in their handbook speaks volumes all on its own! It reveals the chaotic mess the ‘Families are Forever Plan’ really entails. Tell me, just what are the chances of a forever family of the scenario described in their example?

My family can be used as another poster-child for why the forever family idea doesn’t work.

My parents divorced when I was 16 yrs old. My parents hate each other with a vengeance only they can truly describe. What is evident, is that they couldn’t stand to be in a room together for more than five minutes and that was until up to the day my father died 30+ yrs later.

Making matters worse, both of their parents were divorced as well. And their grandparents were both remarried after the death of spouses.

Now with all the dirty laundry blowing out in the wind, whose family could I expect to live with if I was an active, temple going Mormon right now?

My chances of a happy forever family is zero.

Now what?

The answer to this of course, is JESUS!

The Bible tells us repeatedly, both in the New and Old Testaments that  your salvation is dependent upon you and God. It’s not about you and the family you happen to be born into!

Be sure to ask the Mormon you know for their opinion on this and show with demonstrative examples with God doesn’t operate this way.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
