Chaotic Confusion of LDS Gospel

21 May

 Warning for those contemplating membership in the Mormon Church!

Question of the Day:

What happens to people who die before having had a chance to hear the gospel?

Today we’re looking over LDS prophecies concerning the fate of mankind; LDS, and otherwise.

As we look over LDS canon, we can clearly see how Smith’s directives evolved over time. In the beginning stages of his preaching, the fate of those who didn’t fully obey the gospel was clearly defined. His signature canon, the Book of Mormon published in 1830, declared there are no 2ndchances. His chronic contradictions were implemented to create confusion, not peace.

No 2nd Chances

Alma 34:32-35 “… this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors. 33 …do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end…if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed. 34 … that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world. 35 …if ye have procrastinated the day of your repentance …ye have become subjected to the spirit of the devil… therefore, the Spirit of the Lord hath withdrawn…and the devil hath all power over you; and this is the final state of the wicked.”

Those who were good people on earth but didn’t join Mormonism, are delegated to the ‘Terrestrial Kingdom’. Again, there were no 2nd chances.

Doctrine and Covenants 76:71-78 “And again, we saw the terrestrial world, and behold and lo, these are they who are of the terrestrial, whose glory differs from that of the church of the Firstborn who have received the fulness of the Father, even as that of the moon differs from the sun in the firmament.

72 Behold, these are they who died without law;

73 And also they who are the spirits of men kept in prison, whom the Son visited, and preached the gospel unto them, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh;

74 Who received not the testimony of Jesus in the flesh, but afterwards received it.

75 These are they who are honorable men of the earth, who were blinded by the craftiness of men.

76 These are they who receive of his glory, but not of his fulness.

77 These are they who receive of the presence of the Son, but not of the fulness of the Father.

78 Wherefore, they are bodies terrestrial, and not bodies celestial, and differ in glory as the moon differs from the sun.”

Five years later we see that Joe Smith had a change of heart. His god revealed to him they can find salvation after death, and in the Celestial Kingdom no less.

Doctrine and Covenants 137:7-8 “Thus came the voice of the Lord unto me, saying: All who have died without a knowledge of this gospel, who would have received it if they had been permitted to tarry, shall be heirs of the celestial kingdom of God; 8 Also all that shall die henceforth without a knowledge of it, who would have received it with all their hearts, shall be heirs of that kingdom”.

In order to accommodate all the doctrinal change, Smith realized he needed to provide more info to the members, so along came another revelation six years later. This one provided even more chaos to the chain of salvation. Now living people can’t be saved without being baptized for dead people.

Doctrine and Covenants 128:18 “…baptism for the dead. For we without them cannot be made perfect; neither can they without us be made perfect. …”

Joseph F. Smith, October 3, 1918

Stirring the pot of chaos with a healthy dose of confusion, their 6thprophet proclaimed if the dead repent and pay for their own sins, they too can find salvation in the coveted Celestial Kingdom.

This of course could only take place after someone who is living has been baptized and confirmed for them here on earth.

Doctrine and Covenants 138:58-60 “The dead who repent will be redeemed, through obedience to the ordinances of the house of God, 59 And after they have paid the penalty of their transgressions, and are washed clean, shall receive a reward according to their works, for they are heirs of salvation. 60 Thus was the vision of the redemption of the dead revealed to me, and I bear record, and I know that this record is true, through the blessing of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, even so. Amen.”

If you’re LDS, we pray you’ll look up these references for yourself and see the truth! The Lord has said there are no 2nd, or even 3rd chances at salvation. Today, and today only, is the day of salvation!

2 Corinthians 6:2 “(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.).”

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
