“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18

False prophecies A-Z!

Well you know it’s that time of year when our annual ‘Worst of the Worst’ Mormon quotes show up on the site!

This year we found a recurring theme taking place within Mormon leadership. We’re calling it anxiety.

It seems the overriding saga in the Church’s tone is trying to herd the group back into a fenceless pen. It’s painfully obvious their tactics are all for naught. The age of mass media with the internet has proven to be a formidable opponent.

Throughout the year many of their talks kept giving hidden references to past talks given by leaders reminding members not to question their authority and to stay away from outsider info about the Church, including ex-Mormons. In light of that, we posted the references for their original talk as well.

As the last several months have progressed since our last posting, it’s left no doubt they’re scrambling to save face. We found it quite disturbing how they keep delivering speeches disguised as devotionals to young adults warning them that info from anyone but the leaders is poisonous.

The following list is from a few of the most shocking things we’ve found over the past year. At the end of this article are the links for Worst of the Worst, 1 – 3!

I want to make something abundantly clear – we don’t post these things for shock value. Moreover, we don’t do this to bash the Mormon people.

I remember all too well what it felt like as a Mormon when someone was patronizing me because of my faith. I didn’t like it then, and 25+ yrs later, I still don’t.

As we’ve always stated, we do this for two reasons.

1.Inform and educate the Mormon people.

2.Warn the body of Christ about false teachers who still roam this earth.

We pray the following info is used in love for my people, and that the body of Christ will be ever diligent to pray!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle

Decisions for Successful Living, pp. 164-165; “The privilege of obtaining a mortal body on this earth is seemingly so priceless that those in the spirit world, even though unfaithful or not valiant, were undoubtedly permitted to take mortal bodies although under penalty of racial or physical or nationalistic limitations.” – Harold B. Lee, 1973

John 9:2-3; “And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.”

This is one of those times when one doctrine fills the shoes of several false prophecies. Here’s a list of reasons why –

  • 1.There’s no such thing as a pre-existence for mankind. 1 Cor. 15:44-47
  • 2.Disabilities don’t just magically appear in the way this is portrayed.
  • 3.Skin color doesn’t change based on someone’s behavior.
  • 4.Nationalities don’t change based on someone’s behavior.

Doctrines like this serve only one purpose in Mormonism. Induce shame. If you don’t look, think, or act like everyone else in their enclosed group, you’re the problem. Instead of opening God’s word to discover what the Lord has to say, they rely on their own understanding which causes fear based shunning.

Pray for the salvation of those who believe it, and healing in the personal lives when they discover it’s all a lie!

I know Jesus can, and will do this because He did it for me!

We originally published this in 2016, and thought it needed to be placed in our ‘Worst of the Worst’ category, You’ll find it in our upcoming publication of Worst of the Worst Part 4 in the next few days.

One thing is certain – our dear Lord would never condone the things this man said.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle

Follow the Living Prophets, pp. 112-113; “Relying only upon canonized scriptures, observed President Wilford Woodruff, “would scarcely be sufficient to guide us twenty-four hours” (in Journal of Discourses 9:324)…Elder Orson F. Whitney said:… The Latter-day Saints do not do things because they happen to be printed in a book. They do not do things because God told the Jews to do them; nor do they do or leave undone anything because of the instructions that Christ gave to the Nephites.

Whatever is done by this Church is because God, speaking from heaven in our day, has commanded this Church to do it. No book presides over this Church, and no book lies at its foundation. You cannot pile up books enough to take the place of God’s priesthood… That is the constitution of the Church of Christ. … Divine revelation adapts itself to the circumstances and conditions of men, and change upon change ensues as God’s progressive work goes on to its destiny. There is no book big enough or good enough to preside over this Church. (In Conference Report, October 1916, p. 55.)” [emp. mine]

1 Corinthians 15:1-4; “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”.

Isaiah 40:8; “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth, but the word of our God shall stand forever.”

Originally, I had scheduled this LDS reference as a Daily Witnessing Tip only. However, as I prayed about this, the more I knew God wanted me to use it here as well.

Mr. Whitney’s words are enough to shock any God-fearing Christian. In my reactive, self-serving attitude many things came rushing through my thoughts as I looked over his statement several times, but my reaction did nothing to bring glory to the Lord.

That said, today we’re taking a quick look at his words in order to provide a mega-sized warning to the body of Christ. I urge you beloved brothers and sisters in Christ to stop, and give serious pause to these evil words from a man who’s obviously bereft of love for God Almighty.

“Relying only upon canonized scripture…would scarcely be sufficient to guide us twenty-four hours…

This is sad considering canonized scripture has tutored man for roughly 4,000 yrs now, and its precepts have been a handy reference guide on virtually every topic known tomankind.

The Latter-day Saints do not do things because they happen to be printed in a book.

Again, this is a rather arrogant point on which to stand. If it’s true, then why does the Church carry the Bible around with them, and what’s the purpose of their other 3 books that comprise their authorized canon, meaning the BoM, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price?

They do not do things because God told the Jews to do them; nor do they do or leave undone anything because of the instructions that Christ gave to the Nephites. Whatever is done by this Church is because God, speaking from heaven in our day, has commanded this Church to do it.

Hebrews 1:1-2 tells us that God has spoken to man in this day and age through His Son Jesus Christ. The days of God’s prophets roaming the earth as they once did, is over with. There are no new revelations because God has fulfilled those things through giving us His Son.

No book presides over this Church, and no book lies at its foundation. You cannot pile up books enough to take the place of God’s priesthood… That is the constitution of the Church of Christ. …

Well, according to leaders in the Church, the BoM sits at the foundation of the LDS Church so Mr. Whitney might want to check that out!

Book of Mormon, Keystone to Our Religion

Ezra Taft Benson, “The Book of Mormon—Keystone of Our Religion,” Ensign, Nov 1986, 4; “There are three great reasons why Latter-day Saints should make the study of the Book of Mormon a lifetime pursuit.

The first is that the Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion. This was the Prophet Joseph Smith’s statement. He testified that “the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion” (Introduction to the Book of Mormon). A keystone is the central stone in an arch. It holds all the other stones in place, and if removed, the arch crumbles.”

Divine revelation adapts itself to the circumstances and conditions of men, and change upon change ensues as God’s progressive work goes on to its destiny. There is no book big enough or good enough to preside over this Church. (In Conference Report, October 1916, p. 55.)”

Only a non-Christian would state such a thing! God doesn’t react to the circumstances man creates for himelf. I could go on and on here, but I’m sure you’re able to do the same.

One thing is absolutely certain, those who’ve believed this man’s teachings are in great need of our prayers, and the time it takes to share truth. The words of this guy are above the top blasphemous, and my heart for one is shocked and sad beyond words.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
