BRIGHAM YOUNG: NO CHILD KNEW LESS THAN JESUS

10 March

Journal of Discourses 7:286 “It is written of the Savior that he descended below all things. If he did, he descended in capacity. I will merely tell you what I believe on this point. I believe that there never was a child born on this earth with any less capacity than dwelt in the child that was born in a manger of his mother Mary.

I believe, according to the natural ability which he received from his mother and from his supposed father Joseph, that there never was a child that descended lower in capacity, or that knew less.” — Brigham Young, Great Salt Lake City, October 9, 1859

John 16:30 “Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.”

1 Corinthians 1:24 “But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.”

Mr. Young’s discourse shows us how depraved a man’s heart can be, especially when/if they‘re not following Jesus.

Today’s Mormon may not be aware of Young’s diatribe here, but the basic tenets of this philosophy are being played out in their lives right now.

Not accepting that Jesus is God incarnate means you’ve rejected who He is, and subsequently don’t view Him as your creator. Both views culminate in the same result.

Our question today is this –

Whom do you believe?

Jesus, or Brigham?

To the dear Mormons – we pray you’ll believe Jesus!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
