Book of Mormon Plagiarisms, Rewrites, Additions, Deletions, and a Few Coins

29 October

And thus, saith the Lord…or the LDS Church, and Joseph Smith anyway…

Today and tomorrow we’re looking at one subject matter, and that’d be coins in the Book of Mormon. Coins in the Book of Mormon, however, is the cause of the three topics we’re looking at this time around. We’re pulling our resources from Alma, and 3rd Nephi which are both found in the Book of Mormon, as well as a verse in Matthew’s gospel. That’s quite a list, so let’s get started!

For today we’re simply looking at a couple of verses to show how Smith lifted an event in the Bible, and then plagiarized parts of it to incorporate into his own gospel. Tomorrow we’ll show how the nightmare began…

Because the Church can’t leave bad enough alone, in an effort to cover a major faux pas, they rewrote chapter headings after their own apologists (FAIR) publicly shamed the Church’s hierarchy about their initial activity of placing them there in 1920.

Now if that wasn’t bad enough, wait, there’s more…they also rewrote, and sometimes even deleted some of their newfound additions to Smith’s ‘inspired’ gospel. What we read in the BoM headings from 1920-1981 are far different than what we read online.

The level of deceit would make anyone’s head swim.

In light of the mass confusion they’ve caused, we’ve dissected this monstrous mess to gain a clear understanding on how you can use this to witness to a Mormon. Tomorrow we’re looking at their tangled web of lies by showing each change they’ve made. I’ll always be convinced they’ve knowingly done this to mislead, and confuse members of the Church.

Matthew 5:26 “Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.”

3 Nephi 12:26 “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, thou shalt by no means come out thence until thou hast paid the uttermost senine. And while ye are in prison can ye pay even one senine? Verily, verily, I say unto you, Nay.”
