Baptizing Anne Frank:

They’re at it Again!

According to the Huffington Post and Haaretz.com, baptismal and confirmation reports from the LDS Church show posthumous work was performed for Anne Frank on February 18, 2012 in the Dominican Republic.

Anne Frank, a teenaged German Jew suffered and died in the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp in March 1945 at the hands of the brutal SS in Nazi Germany just a few weeks before British troops liberated the camp in April 1945.

Why does this church feel they can keep doing this? The LDS Church and Jewish leaders came to an agreement the Church would stop doing this in 1995 and again in 2010.

The New York Daily News commented that Helen Radkey discovered they’ve baptized Anne Frank at least nine times. How is this normal and why would you continue to do this if it’s from God? Does God require that you’re baptized and “confirmed” nine times before you get into heaven? This whole thing is preposterous.

I see this as a sign of great disrespect. They don’t care about you personally and it’s all just a numbers game to them so they can claim they’re the fastest growing religion in the world. As of this year the Mormon Church claims it has 14 million members. With practices like the one we’re looking at today I have to wonder how many times other people are being counted. Their credibility is shot over things like this!

Elie Wiesel a Holocaust survivor, author and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, criticized the Church for their practice and finds their blatant disregard of respect as offensive. He also believes Mitt Romney should speak out against what his church is doing.

Mitt may not have a reason to denounce this practice considering they did this for one of his family members as well recently. According to reports his deceased atheist father-in-law was baptized as well.

Wiesel’s comments came after the Church apologized for posthumously baptizing Simon Wiesenthal’s parents. But here we are sixteen years after the first agreement to stop doing this and it’s still going on.

I always taught my kids that actions speak louder than words. If the Church was really sorry why do they keep doing it?

On February 13, 2012, just ten days ago we reported on the apology given by the Mormon Church that Simon Wiesenthal’s parents had been posthumously baptized and this latest baptism for this dear girl Anne Frank took place on the 18th. It’s an obvious slap in the face to the Jewish community. http://lifeafterministry.wordpress.com/2012/02/15/mormons-apologize-for-baptizing-wiesenthals-parents/

Sounds to me that someone who believes like you and who still has the ability to submit names did this to embarrass the Church. Look up how many unusual steps he had to go through to get Anne Frank’s name past the safeguards put in place by the Church leaders.

    Salt Lake City —
In response to questions about violations of the Church’s proxy baptism policy, the Church issued the following statement:

The Church keeps its word and is absolutely firm in its commitment to not accept the names of Holocaust victims for proxy baptism.

It takes a good deal of deception and manipulation to get an improper submission through the safeguards we have put in place.

While no system is foolproof in preventing the handful of individuals who are determined to falsify submissions, we are committed to taking action against individual abusers by suspending the submitter’s access privileges. We will also consider whether other Church disciplinary action should be taken.

It is distressing when an individual willfully violates the Church’s policy and something that should be understood to be an offering based on love and respect becomes a source of contention.

    Fred –

You need to tell someone in SLC to get on the ball about this issue… it is turning into a public relations nightmare for the church.

I remember being baptized for the dead when I was 14 years old… they flashed 15 names up on the monitor and I got dunked for every one of them…

I wonder how many Jews I was baptized for??? Can I go back into church records and “re-cant” my proxy baptisms for those of Hebrew lineage?

    1 Timothy 1:1-7

    1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;

2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

    6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

(it is turning into a public relations nightmare for the church.)

Have you noticed how much this problem has grown since Romney has become a frontrunner?

I would say that some people are working to get past the Church rules on name submission to create a negative issue for Romney.

Baptizing people of Jewish descent is the least of the worries the church will have once Obama’s re-election machine gets geared up against Romney (if he is the nominee, of course).

There is enough embarrassing things from the founders of the LDS religion that will be enough to derail Romney’s bid for the White House.

That is why this country needs to get behind Santorum!!! He is the most socially conservative candidate to choose from. He believes in Life, no matter what.

Yes Obama’s people will also repeat every untruth about the LDS Church.

  7. CamdenC March 7, 2012 at 10:19 pm #

They don’t have to repeat any untruths about the LDS Church… Just open up a book or scripture and read from the text

Here is what I ask anybody (doesn’t matter what religion) that I witness to…

“Who is Jesus and how are we saved”?

That’s all Obama has to ask from Romney regarding the LDS Church’s stance on that question. If Romney answers truthfully (according to Mormon Theology), he’s sunk.

If Obama asks about Polygamy… Romney is sunk
If Obama asks about the stance of the church for 150 years about the “negro”… Romney is sunk.

Please don’t get me wrong, we need the current ideology that resides in the White House to be gone!!! That is why Santorum is the best choice.
