World to be Subdued Under Joseph Smith

30 December

Joseph Smith Papers; “When I [Joseph Smith] have proved that I am right, and get all the world subdued under me, I think I shall deserve something.” – September 23, 1843

Revelation 4:10-11; “The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

Our quote for today came from an interview Joseph Smith gave to a newspaper in 1843. It can also be found in The New York Spectator, another paper that ran through most of the 19th century.

One thing is absolutely certain in Mr. Smith’s bold self analysis. He has indeed deserved something alright. It probably won’t be what he was hoping for, but he’ll receive his reward from our very wise, and just God.

Moreover, the Bible gives us a fantastic visual of what it’ll be like when crowns bestowed upon us are cast before Jesus’ throne, the One and Only True King! We’re wondering if Joe thought Jesus was part of the world that he’d subdue someday?

It’s said Queen Victoria prayed for the Lord’s return during her reign so she could take off her crown, and cast it at Jesus’ feet. That’s the attitude we should all have!

Please, pray for the Mormon people who believe in the infallibility of their prophets today. Not only do they have an incorrect view of Smith, they’ve bought into the lie they must follow and revere the men who’s taken the place of Smith.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
