Why doesn’t the BoM Mention Garden of Gethsemane?

02 March

‘For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.’ 1 Corinthians 1:18

Joseph Smith made an incredible claim about his version of the gospel no one should overlook. We can read his so-called prophecy about the Book of Mormon in his other work, the Doctrine and Covenants.

Doctrine and Covenants 20:9 “Which contains a record of a fallen people, and the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles and to the Jews also”.

Today our question is this —

If the Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the gospel, why doesn’t it mention Jesus paid for sins in the Garden of Gethsemane?

Doctrine and Covenants 19:18 “Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink—”

Ironically, or maybe not, you won’t find anything about the Garden of Gethsemane in the Book of Mormon.

Since this is a core belief in Mormonism, we find it interesting their premiere work is totally silent about it.

Ask the Mormon you know about this, and be sure to let them know where Jesus paid for the sins of man! The CROSS!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
