Tip of the Day, March 31

31 March

March 31 – Eph. 2:19-20; “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone”.

_____

Nowhere in these two verses does it say we must have prophets and apostles today!  The verses tell us we are no longer aliens in the common-wealth of Israel and then goes on to compare the body of Christ to a physical building, Jesus Christ being the cornerstone of it.  The prophets and apostles were a secondary foundation with Jesus being the primary foundation of the church.  Look to the teachings of the foundation the apostles and prophets laid for us – this is the true way to worship Him.  The tense of the last sentence in this passage is past tense.  It has already been built.

_____

“Point 3.  The true church must have a foundation of Apostles and Prophets.  Eph. 2:19-20”.

You have left out the parts of the Bible where Jesus told us to watch out for false Prophets, not that there would be no more Prophets to guide His flock.

The definers of “Real Christian” seemed to have missed that truth.

Watching out for false prophets was not the subject of this post. That subject is posted seperately. Pls. Refer to the oher posts where it has repeatedly been discussed.
This is about not having prophets TODAY since we now have Jesus, who fulfilled allmphophecies.
    Fred,
What is your agenda by coming here to this site? Ae you interested in comparing Christianity with Mormonism to make decisions for yourself? OR
Are you just coming to find fault with all that is posted? We are here to help you in your reserch, just as many have done for their questions.

By listing the Mormon vs. the Chrisian views side by side in two columns, you can better see and compare. If your agenda is to “defend Mormonism for all it’s worth” then perhaps another place on the Internet would serve your purposes. The people who generally come here are looking for answers to questions of their hearts. I believe it has taken many people some years of weighing this out before they decided ; it took Michelle over 5 years of research for herself.

What are you trying to accomplish?

(This is about not having prophets TODAY since we now have Jesus)

Jesus set up His Church with leaders from among God’s children. In the Bible He tells us to watch for Prophets, not that there would be no Prophets.

While I wait for you folks to discover and share a new reason that God’s Church is false, I find a need to show ya’ll some of the reasons your present preconclusions are wrong.
