Tip of the Day, June 29

29 June

June 29 –2 Peter 1:20-21; “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

We’ll see today and tomorrow how the apostle Peter shows us whom to trust when anyone says ‘thus saith the Lord’.  Also take notice how this is not inspired. In the text below Jacob said; “which I considered to be most precious…” If he thought it was then it’s his idea, not God’s.

“And he gave me, Jacob, a commandment that I should write upon these plates a few of the things which I considered to be most precious, that I should not touch, save it were lightly, concerning the history of this people which are called  the people of Nephi.”  Jacob 1:2.
