Thought of the Day about Mormonism and the Sacrament

I encourage everyone to go to the link  below and check out the two pictures that rotate on this page from the Church’s website. http://www.lds.org/ensign?lang=eng

One is a picture of bread and water while the other is a picture of Joe Smith kneeling in prayer, arms tightly folded while people are laying hands on his head and praying.

My focus on this set of pictures for this quick thought today is the bread and water. Notice the bread is filled with yeast and what in that water looks like the blood of Christ?

It reminded me of my ignorant state when I first became a Christian.  I’d never heard of Passover until after I left the Church and for the first time in my life I finally understood the entire movie with Charleton Heston and the Ten Commandments.  I know it sounds outrageous but this is how far in the dark most Mormons live when it comes to these types of things.

If they believe Jesus had no sin then why does their sacramental bread not represent this? Furthermore, if they believe He spilled His blood for their sin why are they using water which loses the significance of His blood and misrepresents what He did for us on the Cross at Calvary?  The bread and water reminds me of the old phrase when you go to prison they serve you bread and water. The imagery for that one couldn’t be more telling. They are indeed imprisoned by Satan and being held captive to the lies they’ve been told.
