The Jesus of Mormonism

19 October

He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” – Matthew 16:15-16

The above two verses captured my attention as a Mormon teenager growing up in Utah.  I didn’t understand the meaning of the word Christ, but instinctively knew it had to mean more than what I was being taught.

Today whenever I meet a Mormon missionary, my question is always the same;

Who do you think Jesus is?

Not surprisingly, I get a different answer from each and every Mormon I encounter.  When I think of the missionaries who come to my door I can’t help but think of a song by Hillsong called “Inside Out”.  One of the lines says “…the art of losing myself in bringing You praise…”   It never would’ve crossed my mind to do such a thing as a Mormon and the way the missionaries talk about Joseph Smith I’m convinced it doesn’t for them either.  So again, I am asking:

What did Jesus do in your life today?

Do you even know?

Have you even stopped to think of it?

I’m not asking you what “calling” you received and love to do.  I’m not talking about how you got to church on time, your promotion at work or that you found the elusive sock from your dryer.

What did Jesus do for you today?

How about yesterday?

How is your life different because of what He did?

After forty six years of studying the Jesus of Mormonism, I am convinced the doctrines of the LDS Church are polar opposite of the teachings in the Holy Bible.  As people have read and known for centuries past, the Jesus of the Bible is God incarnate who came here to this earth to serve as the Paschal Lamb and die for our sins.  Not one time in thirty years of being a Mormon had I ever heard such a thing.

During the time of learning new things in Christianity, finding truths in the Bible came as a welcome relief while at the same time hurting my heart deeply for those still ensnared in the grip of Mormonism – my mother comes to mind first and foremost.

In the years since my exodus I’ve been asked to speak at countless churches, have provided dozens of hours of radio programs that teach on the dangers of Mormonism and have spent thousands of hours providing exit counseling for those who’ve decided to leave as well.

The chart below is part of a power point presentation I provide when teaching at churches.  You’ll see the side by side comparison is clearly able to show the Jesus of the Bible is not the same Jesus of Mormonism.

The LDS Church has turned their Jesus into a polygamist, created by a god who is also a polygamist.  He is the elder brother of Lucifer they can’t have a relationship with and will never be able to emulate or know.  The Jesus of Mormonism was a white man from Jerusalem who died on the cross, but not for your sins, nor can his shed blood save you from all sins.

I have faith in God and pray He will open the minds of my people to see the truth for themselves.  In this fast paced world that wants instantaneous answers to their questions, hopefully what we’ve posted here will cause them to begin questioning.

If you’re a Mormon, we want you to know that we pray for you every single day.  We don’t post these things to bash or to embarrass you.  We do this because we understand where you are now – we’ve been in your shoes.

We’re praying you want a real relationship with Jesus and hope to hear from you soon!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle

Luke 1:35;  “And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son of God.”” Not begotten by the HS.  Journal of Discourses-1:51;  “…if the Son was begotten by the Holy Ghost, it would be very dangerous to baptize and confirm females & give the Holy Ghost to them, lest he should beget children…”
John 8:58; “Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM.””John 1:1, 14a; “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us…” He is a strange god.  Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith-372; “Many men say there is one God…I say that is a strange God anyhow—three in one and one in three!  It is a curious organization.”
Col. 1:15-16a:  “And He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation.  For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on the earth, visible and invisible…” Chosen to be a god.  Mormon Doctrine pg. 129;  “By obedience and devotion to the truth he attained that pinnacle of intelligence which ranked him as a God, as the Lord omnipotent, while yet in his pre-existent state.  …he was then chosen to work out the infinite and eternal atonement…and to put the whole plan of redemption, salvation, and exaltation in operation.”
Heb. 1:5; “For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?” Lucifer’s brother.  Gospel through the Ages pg. 15; “The appointment of Jesus to be the Savior of the world was contested by one of the other sons of God. He was called Lucifer, son of the morning.”
1 Cor. 5:21; “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” He was a polygamist.  Jesus Was Married, by Ogden Kraut, pg. 27; “The first principle, ordinance, and commandment given to man was the marriage law.  It would indeed seem very peculiar that the Lord of all mankind would be a perfect example in all things except marriage.  Historical records, scriptural evidence, and reason all prove that He was the God Shepherd in obeying every law of the Gospel.”
1 John 1:9; “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” His blood cannot save murderers. Discourses of Joseph Smith, pg. 221; “”Remission of sins by baptism was not to be preached to murderers. All the priests of Christendom might pray for a murderer on the scaffold forever, but could not avail so much as a gnat towards their forgiveness. There is no forgiveness for murderers.”
Isaiah 44:24; “Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself.” He is our literal elder brother.  Discourses of Brigham Young pg. 26; “Our Lord Jesus Christ—the Savior, who has redeemed the world and all things pertaining to it, is the Only Begotten of the Father pertaining to the flesh. He is our Elder Brother, and the Heir of the family…”
Isaiah 7:14; “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Virgin Mary is white & delightsome. 1 Nephi 11:13; “And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the great city of Jerusalem, and also other cities. And I beheld the city of Nazareth; and in the city of Nazareth I beheld a virgin, and she was exceedingly fair and white.”
Hebrews 12:2; “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Died on the cross, but not for your sins. D&C 19:18-19; “Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink— Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men.”
Matthew 2:1; “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem.” Born in Jerusalem.  Alma 7:10; “And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin…”
Luke 2:4; “And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)” A white man – 3 Nephi 19:30; “And when Jesus had spoken these words he came again unto his disciples; and behold they did pray steadfastly, without ceasing, unto him; and he did smile upon them again; and behold they were white, even as Jesus.”
John 11:25; “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” Had to qualify to become redeemer.  Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, pg. 8; “To qualify as the Redeemer of all our Father’s children, Jesus had to be perfectly obedient to all the laws of God.”
Hebrews 1:3; “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Volunteered for the atonement.  Answers to Gospel Questions 1:32; “…before Adam and Eve were sent to the earth, and Jesus Christ volunteered to come and atone for this transgression and thus gain the victory over the devil. Therefore, he is called the “Lamb of God,”,,,”
1 Tim. 2:5; “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” A god.  Doctrines of Salvation 1:32; “Our Savior was a God before he was born into this world, and he brought with him that same status when he came here.”
Mark 13:21-22;“And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: 22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.” Gordon B. Hinckley, LDS Church News, June 20, 1998, p. 7;The traditional Christ of whom they [evangelical Christians] speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times. He together with His Father, appeared to the boy Joseph Smith in the year 1820, and when Joseph left the grove that day, he knew more of the nature of God than all the learned ministers of the gospel of the ages.”
