Contradictions in the Doctrine and Covenants Today we’re wondering why the prophecy declared by Joseph Smith contradicts what has taken place in the Mormon Church. As you’ll see from the text, God told Joseph that whoever performs or declares more than repentance and coming to Christ is not in obedience.
