Satanic LDS Jewelry

22 December

Last year we wrote an article about the jewelry sold on the Deseret Book’s online jewelry store asking Mormons to take a look at the spiritual implications of what the trinkets for their charm bracelets and necklaces meant.  Then Melissa noticed in the Christmas season they were selling replicas of the angel of light Moroni as a Christmas tree topper and we pointed out the spiritual dangers of that as well.

So while perusing their site earlier this week I came across many of the same things we pointed out last time in addition to a few other items. In light of our findings we thought it’d be worthwhile to take a look at what the following items mean spiritually.

Owl Necklace

Be_Wise_necklace_detailWhen I looked up the spiritual significance of owls I came across countless websites with each depicting numerous meanings.  The common denominator across the board described them as watchers of the underworld and a creature who imparts wisdom, has psychic powers, is associated with witchcraft and sorcery in Africa and elsewhere in the world will gather witches to dance on graves.

In both the Easton’s and the Holman Bible Dictionary the owl is classified in the list of unclean animals and is known for nesting in areas of perpetual desolation.  Isaiah 34:13-15.  The Lord warned the Israelites (and us too!) to keep separate from them.

Leviticus 20:25; “Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.”

Hold to the Rod Necklace

Hold to the Rod Keyring NecklaceThe phrase “hold to the rod” comes from the Mormon scripture section 8 in Doctrine and Covenants.  This scripture was a revelation from Joe Smith to Oliver Cowdery given in 1829. The “rod” was in reference to a diving rod which is nothing more than a tool used in witchcraft for the use of looking for buried treasure.  D&C 8 is the rewrite of chapter 7 from the Book of Commandments.

We’ve listed a side by side comparison of how the Church changed its wording to not look so occult like. When reading this passage today the majority of Mormons haven’t a clue that Smith was referring to a diving rod.

In essence this necklace is nothing more than a tool of witchcraft that Mormons are wearing around their necks. They’re not allowed to wear a cross, but a diving rod, no problem.  God however, has other plans and ideas!

Leviticus 19:31; “Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.”

We find it interesting how Smith refers to himself as a medium whenever he reveals new scripture from his god and the Lord uses the word wizard to warn people they need to stay away from them.  The Hebrew word for wizard is yidde€oònŒòy which means “medium”.  Is this just another coincidence?  Yeah, we didn’t think so either…

Book of

Commandments

Doctrine and

Covenants

7:3; “O remember, these words and

keep my commandments. Remember this is your gift. Now this is not all, for you have another gift, which is the gift of working with the rod: behold it has told you things: behold there is no other power save God, that can cause this rod of nature, to work in your hands, for it is the work of God; and therefore whatsoever you shall ask me to tell you by that means, that will I grant unto you, that you shall know.

8:5; “Oh, remember these words, and keep my commandments. Remember, this is your gift. 8:6 Now this is not all thy gift; for you have another gift, which is the gift of Aaron; behold, it has told you many things; 8:7 Behold, there is no other power, save the power of God, that can cause this gift of Aaron to be with you. 8:8 Therefore, doubt not, for it is the gift of God; and you shall hold it in your hands, and do marvelous works; and no power shall be able to take it away out of your hands, for it is the work of God. 8:9 And, therefore, whatsoever you shall ask me to tell you by that means, that will I grant unto you, and you shall have knowledge concerning it.

Salt Lake Temple Doorknob Necklace

SL Temple Doorknob NecklaceThis trinket for necklaces is the replica of a doorknob from Salt Lake Temple.  On the doorknobs of the Salt Lake Temple you’ll find a beehive.  We’ve writtenabout the spiritual dangers of using the symbol of beehives and how they’re nothing more than a fertility symbol found in many cultic cultures; Brahmari, Masonic, witchcraft and mythological figures in Greek and Roman cultures who adored bees.

God compared bees to the armies of the enemies for being antagonists.

Deuteronomy 1:44; “And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto Hormah.”

Men’s Silver Joseph Smith Ring

JS_Ring_detail (1)This is a replica of the ring Smith always wore illustrating the eternal nature of man. Of course we already know that man is created and not eternal – Gen. 1:26 – and why would someone wear a piece of jewelry that replicates something their deceased prophet wore when he died?

Why did God tell Job to man up and explain where he was when the Lord created the earth if man was eternal?

Job 38:4; “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.”

Jesus Print

Jesus and Young WomenWe know this isn’t jewelry but did find it interesting they’re selling a print of the Mormon Jesus with a bunch of young women hanging on him.  It didn’t explain they’ve used this painting at other times when teaching that Jesus was a polygamist.  Strange indeed…

Liahona Necklace

NecklaceLiahona_detailThe “Liahona” is a magical brass ball that makes an appearance in the Book of Mormon – 1 Nephi 16:10.  When the prophet Lehi was praying God would send him directions on how to get out of Israel so he and the family could sail to the other promised land of America, God placed a magical brass ball in front of his tent door for him to discover when he woke up the next morning.

It had two spindles one of which worked revealing the direction they should go and the other provided periodic lessons of how they should behave. The spindles only worked properly if they were in full obedience to God.  Whenever they disobeyed it sat silent leaving them to wonder what they should do not to offend God.

It sounds a lot like the Magic 8 Ball that was invented back in the 1940’s by Albert Carter who was inspired by a tool his clairvoyant mother used to determine the future.  The other popular use of a witch’s ball is found in gardens today.  Many people have purchased large glass gazing balls to put in their gardens not realizing they’re a remake of a witch’s crystal ball.

1 Nephi 16:29; “And there was also written upon them a new writing, which was plain to be read, which did give us understanding concerning the ways of the Lord; and it was written and changed from time to time, according to the faith and diligence which we gave unto it. And thus we see that by small means the Lord can bring about great things.”

Deuteronomy 18:10-11; “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.”

Sunstone Tie-tac

NauvooSunstone_detailEngraved sunstones can be found all around the perimeter of the Nauvoo Temple just under its roofline. Now they’ve made them into tie-tacs or pendant charms for bracelets and necklaces.

Here’s what we wrote about this in our look at the occultic markings of the temples;

Just looking at the face of this sunstone character is bothersome.  Solar deities can be found in many cultures throughout history and can be male or female.  In Greek and Roman mythology, Apollo was a god of light and sun.  Ra of Heliopolis (Horus or Anu-Re to the Egyptians) is another example and considered to be the creator of everything.  These symbols are nothing more than a form of Ba’al worship.

Ba’al worship is the adoration or worship of things in nature created by God.  The worshipping of creation typically revolved around the cycle of crops or raising livestock or it could include the worship of water.  It also included the worshipping of stars, the moon, planets and sun.  The Israelites are thought to have adopted Ba’al worship through the Canaanites.  See Jewish Encyclopedia

Neo-paganism (modern form of witchcraft) is replete with the use of personified sun and/or moon gods.  It has so infiltrated our society and culture today that we can see these sun faces everywhere in home and yard décor.  Many people are oblivious to the spiritual implications of having these idols in their homes.

I keep saying one of the best bible studies that opened my eyes to the historical aspects of the Old Testament was the book of Jeremiah (See Jer. 42:15-16).  It also cleared the fog of confusion for me that I kept having with the Book of Mormon.  Just about everything God commanded the Israelites not to do is found as righteous behavior in the Book of Mormon.

LDS temples aren’t coy about whom the attendees are worshipping.  God destroyed most of the Israelites for worshipping the same things depicted on these temples.

In addition to all that, there is the sun god Re whom the Egyptians worship.  The Egyptians believed Re, also known as Horus-Re, died and was resurrected or reborn each and every day.  Egyptians personified this sun god through drawings of him sitting on a boat sailing through the sky.

In the 1913 publication of Spalding’s booklet, “Joseph Smith, Jr., as a Translator”, we find Egyptologist Dr. Samuel Mercer’s findings.  According to Dr. Mercer along with ten other Egyptologists, the drawing in Facsimile 2, Figure 3 in the Book of Abraham is the Egyptian sun god Horus.

Yet, Joseph Smith was adamant this pictorial is “God sitting upon his throne”.  We can only be left to conclude the god of Mormonism is Horus, not the God of the Bible.

Temple Symbols 5

Above drawing is from the Book of Abraham Facsimile 2, Figure 3

2 Kings 17:16; “And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.”

If or when you see a Mormon wearing anything we’ve mentioned here ask them what the symbol means to them and why.  And just as Dr. Walter Martin always said, “Qualify your questions with demonstrative evidence from the Bible of why it’s wrong”.

Many times the Mormon will see the numerous symbols their Church employs and wonder why they suddenly have a creepy feeling.  Lovingly explain to them the reasons why!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle

What about the Ark of the Covanent? Was it a magical instrument too?

You talk about symbols. The common symbols of Christian holidays are indeed pagan. Starting with Easter, rabbits & eggs represent fertility. The Christmas tree is even alluded to in the King James version. Found in Jeremiah 10:1-5. Some interrupt this as graven images, but I believe that each person should interrupt for themselves. As far as the Mormons not allowed to wear a cross? That’s false. I am Mormon & just about every woman in the branch wears at least one. God gave everyone a brain, read & study for yourself & pray for guidance. He will answer. Blow the dust off your Bible & read it! Don’t just take what someone else says as truth. Symbols are all around us & mean different things to different people & at different times in each of our lives. Oh, Mormons read & study the KJV Bible too. Thanks
