Salvation not an Event – Mormon Quotes

Sermons & Writings of Bruce McConkie, pg. 52; We do not work out our salvation in a moment; it doesn’t come to us in an instant, suddenly. Gaining salvation is a process. Paul says, “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” (Philip. 2:12).

Phil. 2:12-13Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

Contrary to the writings of McConkie, salvation is indeed an event.

We are saved, we are being saved and we will be saved when we see Jesus.
