Romans Road to Salvation v. Our Filthy Rags

26 October

Isaiah 64:6; “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”

Teachings of Heber J. Grant, Chapter 4, Persistence, pp. 33-41; “If you want to know how to be saved, I Romans Road 1can tell you; it is by keeping the commandments of God. No power on earth, no power beneath the earth, will ever prevent you or me or any Latter-day Saint from being saved, except ourselves. We are the architects of our own lives, not only of the lives here, but the lives to come in the eternity.”

Also see Brian H. Stuy, comp., Collected Discourses Delivered by President Wilford Woodruff, His Two Counselors, the Twelve Apostles, and Others, 5 vols. (1987–92), 4:357.

Acts 4:12; “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

John 8:24; “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”
Hebrews 10:18; “Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.”

Obviously, the scriptures listed above clearly refute Mr. Grant’s erroneous assessment of how to be saved. In addition to those over-the-top, awesome words from God, there’s the Romans Road to Salvation that provides a clear outline of what one can do when accepting and understanding how to ask Jesus into your heart!

A couple of days ago we saw more of this teaching from the LDS Manual, Teachings of the Prophets of the Church, so we’re not going long on this today. We pray you’ll share the info on the Romans Road with a Mormon you know because it can also be utilized as a great witnessing tool.

Mr. Grant had a lot of information he imparted to the Mormon people, it’s too bad none of it was true. His instructions on how to be saved were clearly a way to mock what our Lord told us in His word. There is no other way, but Christ Jesus and Him crucified!

And please, above all else, don’t forget to pray!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
