Why the Polygamist Mormon Jesus isn’t Biblical

19 October

Jesus was Married, p. 36; “…Joseph F. Smith…spoke upon the marriage in Cana of Galilee. He thought Jesus was the Bridegroom and Mary and Martha the brides…Joseph Smith spoke upon these passages to show that Mary and Martha manifested much closer relationships than merely a believer. Journal of Wilford Woodruff, July 22, 1883.” Ogden Kraut

Isaiah 54:5 “For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.”

We’re highlighting this reference today for two reasons.

1.To introduce the Mormon people to the true biblical doctrine that Jesus is indeed a bridegroom, but not in the way they believe. Christ Jesus is the bridegroom of the body of Christ, and not the bridegroom of Mary Magdalene, and sisters Mary and Martha.

Jesus is God, and was never married to women in the sense of a man and woman being married as husband and wife.

2.It  provides definitive proof Joe Smith not only believed, but also taught Jesus was married, and was indeed a polygamist. There are more Mormons than I can count who argue that teaching was introduced by Brigham Young, not Joe Smith.

Dear Mormon, please, stop today and read the truth! You can do this by opening a Bible concordance, and look for the word bridegroom. Reading each listing will give you a starting point of understanding.

You can find the word bridegroom 21 times in the Bible. As a head start, take a look at Isaiah 62:5 –

‘For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.’

If you’re a Christian, please, share this awesome truth with a Mormon today!

With Love in Christ;
