Past Prophets Must be Morally Wrong According to Mormon’s Latest Campaign

04 May

“…anyone who claims superiority under the Father’s plan because of characteristics like race, sex, nationality, language, or economic circumstances is morally wrong and does not understand the Lord’s true purpose for all of our Father’s children.” – Quentin L. Cook

Mormon Newsroom, ‘Be One,’ April 30, 2018; “In scripture, Jesus tells us to “be one; and if ye are not one ye are not mine.” “Be One” is the theme of a First Presidency-sponsored event on June 1, 2018, celebrating the 1978 revelation on the priesthood on its 40th anniversary. BeOne.lds.org has been created to provide more information about the event…

Although attitudes and choices such as anger, bigotry, racism, prejudice and intolerance cause separation and division, fortunately, prophets have taught that “a great day of unity is coming.”

…While the June celebration will hail the history of black Mormon pioneers and reaffirm the reality that “all are alike unto God” in His global family, the event is intended to be much more than a celebration. It will also be a renewal of our collective commitment to pursue oneness in our relationships with each other and with heaven.

President M. Russell Ballard said, “We need to embrace God’s children compassionately and eliminate any prejudice, including racism, sexism, and nationalism. Let it be said that we truly believe the blessings of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ are for every child of God.”

Added Elder Quentin L. Cook, “anyone who claims superiority under the Father’s plan because of characteristics like race, sex, nationality, language, or economic circumstances is morally wrong and does not understand the Lord’s true purpose for all of our Father’s children.”

The excerpt at the top of this article came from the end of the Church’s campaign announcement. We felt it spoke more to the ambiguous truth of Mormonism, than the rest of what they had to say.

The phrase ‘All are Alike Unto God’, was the title of a speech Bruce McConkie gave in 1978, shortly after the announcement of the Church granting the priesthood to blacks.

In part here’s what he said –

Forget What We’ve Said, It Doesn’t Matter Anymore

“All Are Alike unto God”, August 18, 1978; “We have now had added a new flood of intelligence and light on this particular subject, and it erases all the darkness and all the views and all the thoughts of the past. They don’t matter anymore.

It doesn’t make a particle of difference what anybody ever said about the Negro matter before the first day of June of this year, 1978. It is a new day and a new arrangement, and the Lord has now given the revelation that sheds light out into the world on this subject.” – Bruce McConkie

Now, with McConkie’s statement, and the Church’s past and present doctrinal history, whom do you believe?

If the Church is truly going to disrobe itself from the cloak of racist ideologies, the Book of Mormon and the Pearl of Great Price, should be the first to go.

Moreover, they’ll have to openly denounce every single predecessor.

Oh what a tangled web we weave…

We’ll be sure to follow their upcoming ‘celebrations’ as June 1st draws closer.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
