Outrageous Lies of Russell Nelson to Missions Presidents

04 July

Isaiah 29:13-16; “Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: 14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. 15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us? 16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?”

“The Book of Mormon is a ‘miraculous miracle,’ says President Russell M. Nelson at 2016 Seminar for New Mission Presidents”

Russell Nelson ProvoThe two quotes above are the focus of what we’re looking at today. One tells of an awful scenario in Israel’s future, and the other is a lie.

Today we’re looking at a speech Russell Nelson delivered late last month at a seminar for New Mission Presidents in Provo, Utah. If you’d like to read it in full via the Deseret News, you can do so by clicking on the link we’ve provided! LDS Church News, Seminar for New Missions Presidents, June 23, 2016

The further along we go in time, the more blatant the Church’s heresy seems to show forth. Today the tone of their rhetoric is reminiscent of pioneer days in the 1840’s. Back then hell fire and brimstone sermons were reaching a fevered pitch until Feds stepped in to enforce the nation’s newly adopted Edmunds-Tucker Act of 1887. (A measure to abolish the polygamy problem once and for all.)

After the final piece of polygamy dust was squashed in 1904, the Church did an about face. They dramatically toned down their rhetoric, and began working at getting their foot in the door with the higher ups in DC. Now it’s looking more and more like the gilded age of sitting quietly in the back corner are done and over.

Personally, I think they know the gig is almost up. Their tone reminds me of someone who feels like they’ve painted themselves into a corner and now they’re throwing everything they have out there in hopes it’ll stick. I’m expecting polygamy to make a grand appearance in the not too distant future.

Nelson’s speech was a classic example of cult behavior. Once again, they took a single verse from the Bible, and built an entire doctrine on it. We’ve pulled a few of the highlights to compare them with what our Lord says in His word. The one thing they pulled from His word was Isaiah 29:14…oh dear…let’s look at what they said –

‘President Nelson said the Book of Mormon is part of a prophecy recorded in Isaiah 29:14, which reads, “I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder.”’

What he didn’t tell the audience is that this verse comes from God’s chastisement against Israel! The marvelous work and wonder God was about to perform was allowing the Assyrians to invade Israel and scatter the Northern Kingdoms.

Tell me, who’d want to look forward to something like that? Oh yeah, isn’t this wonderful and marvelous that we’re about to be pummeled by the enemy! Hello?

The audacity of this man using this particular verse to blatantly lie to the faces of his own people is stunning! The last time they tried to pull this off was back in the Joe Smith era. For whatever reason, they unabashedly trusted everything their leaders said and called it a day.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Nelson went further with a couple more things –

“There are some things the Book of Mormon is not,” President Nelson said. “It is not a textbook of history, although some history is found within its pages. It is not a definitive work on ancient American agriculture or politics. It is not a record of all former inhabitants of the Western Hemisphere, but only of particular groups of people.”

Why does Moroni 10:4 say all the things written in the BoM are true?

“And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true…”

By default stories in the BoM can’t be true according to what Nelson just said! What’s even more incredible is the last thing he said –

‘“The Book of Mormon is true. It is irrefutable.’

Oh, how these people need our prayers! Pray they open their Bibles and read the entire passage in context, and then question the motives of this man who is trying to trick them!
