Orson Pratt: Translations of Bible Diversified and Incorrect

28 April

Journal of Discourses 14:257 – 258; “These Greek and Hebrew manuscripts being transmitted from generation to generation, and transcribed and altered more or less, have fallen at length into the hands of the people of latter times in a state wherein they very much contradict each other. … I am astonished when I look at this Bible, to find it so correct; I am astonished, and it has been a mystery to me that it can be so correct with such an abundance of contradictions in the original manuscripts. As a general thing the meaning has not been altered much, but it has been altered sufficiently to produce all the confusion at present existing throughout Christendom.” – Orson Pratt, Salt Lake City, December 10, 1871

2 Timothy 3:16; “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”.

Mr. Pratt claimed to be fluent in Hebrew, Greek, and other ancient languages, but it’s a hard pill to swallow with statements he made here.

How can it be so correct and be confusing at the same time?

Only Satan, not other Christians, puts doubts into the minds of believers!

The agenda of Mormonism has always been to discredit God, and the things He’s done throughout history. From the days of Joe Smith, to Orson Pratt, and even now, we see a continuing theme in their narrative.

We’re wondering…

If the Bible is so wrong, why do they use it?

Why do missionaries carry it around with them when they knock on your door?

Ask your Mormon friends/loved ones why.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
