No Procreation for Non-Exalted Mormons

10 March

Doctrines of Salvation 2:287-288; “In both of these kingdoms there will be changes in the bodies and limitations. They will not have the power of increase, neither the power or nature to live as husbands and wives, for this will be denied them and they cannot increase.
“Those who receive the exaltation in the celestial kingdom will have the ‘continuation of the seeds forever.’ [D&C 132:19.] They will live in the family relationship. In the terrestrial and in the telestial kingdoms there will be no marriage. Those who enter there will remain “separately and singly” forever. [D&C 132:15-32.]
“Some of the functions in the celestial body will not appear in the terrestrial body, neither in the telestial body, and the power of procreation will be removed. I take it that men and women will, in these kingdoms, be just what the so-called Christian world expects us all to be neither man nor woman, merely immortal beings having received the resurrection.” – Joseph Fielding Smith, 1954

Mark 12:24-25; “And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.”

Answers to Gospel Questions 4:66-67; “Our own sober judgment teaches us that the Lord in his infinite wisdom and justice, would see to it that the privileges of increase or cohabitation between men and women in these kingdoms would be impossible because of peculiar conditions pertaining to these glories.

“Is not the sectarian world justified in their doctrine generally proclaimed, that after the resurrection there will be neither male or female sex? It is a logical conclusion for them to reach and apparently is in full harmony with what the Lord has revealed regarding the kingdoms into which evidently the vast majority of mankind is likely to go. However, if members of the Church are faithful and true to the covenants and commandments of the gospel, there is no reason for them to worry about the condition which will prevail in these several kingdoms.””

Today’s example of too much information is brought to you by no less than the LDS Church…why would a prophet of God allow his thoughts go to where they did?

Moreover, how could the Mormon god perform surgical amputations of body parts when he didn’t have the power to create them to begin with? Remember, Mormonism teaches all men are immortal, and have existed forever.

Mr. Smith’s teachings are a great example that when you’re fixated on one thing, nothing else seems to enter your thoughts.

Since this teaching would still hold true today, pray for those who are burdened with shame and guilt for not being more active in the Church. We’re praying they think through the obvious conclusions of a false ideology.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
