No Grace in Mormonism

Journal of Discourses 13:233; “The Gospel of the Son of God that has been revealed is a plan or system of laws and ordinances, by strict obedience to which the people who inhabit this earth are assured that they may return again into the presence of the Father and the Son.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, February 20, 1870

Hebrews 10:10-12 “…we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11  And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12  But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God”.

Hebrews 10:14; “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”

Hebrews 10:20-23 “By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised)”.

From those very brief biblical passages, what else is there that we could do? They clearly manifest the fallacy in Brigham’s diatribe. As I’ve stated before in our Mentoring Handbook, Chapter 14, grace was poured out of heaven the day He died!

Jesus became sin while hanging on that cross. He became every transgression you, and I committed this week, last month, and next year, so that we could live in heaven with Him for eternity. His blood was shed to wash away our sin, and God raised Him on the third day to show us His power, and that we too, will live forever with Him!

Praise be to God, in His Holy Name!
