Mormons Told to Seek Help From Angels

22 April

John 21:25; “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.”

General Conference, ‘Place No More for the Enemy of My Soul,’ April 2010

“Acknowledge that people bound by the chains of true addictions often need more help than self-help, and that may include you. Seek that help and welcome it. Talk to your bishop. Follow his counsel. Ask for a priesthood blessing. Use the Church’s Family Services offerings or seek other suitable professional help. Pray without ceasing. Ask for angels to help you.” – Jeffrey Holland (emphasis mine)

Luke 8:22-25; “Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. 23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. 24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. 25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.”

I’m sure you noticed the Church’s laundry list of outside resources to utilize when/if a person might need help, or direction to get through a crisis. They recommended the following places to turn to –

A bishop

A priesthood blessing

Professional help

Church’s Family Services

Angels

Question: how can they pray without ceasing if they’re seeking so many outside resources?

Most importantly, why isn’t Jesus on that list? He performed no less than 37 miracles during His earthly ministry. Why not go to Him? What happened to Jesus?
