Mormon Sacrament Prayers Contradict Mormonism

21 April

D&C 20:77, 79; “O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it, that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him and keep his commandments which he has given them; that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

79 O  God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this wine to the souls of all those who drink of it, that they may do it in remembrance of the blood of thy Son, which was shed for them; that they may witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they do always remember him, that they may have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.” [all emp. mine]

1 Corinthians 11:23-26; “For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.”

Foregoing the fact the LDS Church uses leavened bread for their Sacrament, let’s take a look at what their prayers really mean, and find out why they contradict Mormon doctrines. And as always, please, pray for these dear people!

Prayer to bless the bread.

1.Eternal Father – Mormonism’s Eternal Father is an exalted man turned god, making it impossible for him to be eternal.

2.’Do this is remembrance’ – Mormons refuse to think about the cross. How can they remember what Jesus did on the cross when they don’t think about it?

3.The Mormon ‘holy ghost’ doesn’t have to stick around to be with anyone. At the slightest of wrongdoing, he’s out of there. D&C 130:22-23

Prayer to bless the water.

4.’Sanctify this wine’ – alcohol is forbidden in the Mormon dietary laws so Mormons use water, completely stripping away any resemblance of His true sacrifice.

5.’Do this is remembrance’  of the shed blood of the Mormon Jesus – the Mormons need to remember their Jesus didn’t pay for all their sins, and therefore must work for salvation.

6.’They may have His Spirit to be with them’ – The Mormon Holy Ghost doesn’t reside inside a person, but is merely an extraneous force which can influence their behavior/thinking.
