Mormon Dilemma 450

Evolving Religion

Millennial Star, No. 8, October 1, 1845, vol.6, p.121; “Joseph Smith in his lifetime did not receive everything connected with the doctrine of redemption, but has left the key with those who understand how to obtain and teach this great people, all that is necessary for their salvation and exaltation in the celestial kingdom of our God.” – Brigham Young

2 Peter 3:2; “That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour.”

If Joseph didn’t have the whole story on how to get saved what exactly was his purpose on this earth?

sounds like BY was trying to solidify his position as the next ‘prophet’ just like his forerunner. if the church at the time of JS didn’t have the whole strory and he was needed to fill back in ‘the plain and precious parts’, then BY was just following in the footsteps on the Mormon Messiah.
Cults rely on people’s gulibility for the ‘next new thing of God’ when they should be re-discovering the ‘old paths’ that lead back to Christ Alone for salvation.

No truer words have been spoken. They prey upon the trusting people of this world to manipulate the facts.
My husband Kirk was a convert and he’s always said that if he’d known half of the basics he never would’ve joined.
My heart hurts for those who have done the same and now regret their decision.
