Mormon Dilemma 386

Procreation in Heaven

Doctrines of Salvation 2:48; “The Father has promised us that through our faithfulness we shall be blessed with the fulness of his kingdom. In other words we will have the privilege of becoming like him. To become like him we must have all the powers of godhood; thus a man and his wife when glorified will have spirit children who eventually will go on an earth like this one…”

Ecc. 9:5-6; “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun.”

The LDS teaching above is what was going through my mind at the end of my life in Mormonism. I began begging God to send me to hell if it meant I’d have to be eternally pregnant.  Love my kids, don’t get me wrong but pregnancy wasn’t exactly heavenly for me.

The Church teaches that we shouldn’t expect anything different in heaven than what we experience here as far as length of pregnancies, stature, etc so in my mind heaven would be less than glorious shall we say.
