Not Having Kids Means No True Salvation

Teachings of Harold B. Lee, pg 283; “There are those among us who think (if it can be called thinking) that having a large family of children is old-fashioned and an evidence of those who are unsophisticated and don’t know better. No more pernicious doctrine than that could hardly be imagined. Those who refuse to accept the obligations of parenthood are not living up to their greatest opportunities…Those who refuse as husbands and wives to have children are proving themselves already too small for the infinitude of God’s creative powers.”

Luke 10:38-42; “Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

Also see Matt. 22:36-40 for the Greatest Commandment of loving God with all your heart.

Which do you want to hear from Jesus? That which is needful or that which is not? Let’s not forget what Jesus said about the Greatest Commandment. Loving the Lord with all your heart was evident in Mary.

I can’t imagine Jesus running around counting all your kids like someone looking in a chicken coop counting the birds running around inside. Not to mention how many is enough to open that gate of salvation for you as a Mormon?
