Pre-existence

Ensign, November 1996, pg 71; “In a premortal council at which we were all present, [the Savior] led the forces of good against those of Satan and his followers in a battle for the souls of men that began before this world was formed. That conflict continues today. We were all on the side of Jesus then. We are on the side of Jesus today.” – Joseph Wirthlin, “Christians in Belief and Action”

1 Corinthians 15:45-47; “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.”

So much for the idea of a pre-existence eh?

One of the demeaning uses of the pre-existence was to teach non-whites they were less than valiant while living in the presence of God and Jesus Himself.

I can’t imagine anyone choosing an earthly life filled with demoralizing teachings, nor can I imagine choosing a life of wanting to come here to be abused as a child or wife.  Why would someone want that when it hadn’t even been experienced in the pre-existence?  It just doesn’t make sense.
