Brigham Young is LDS Dictator

Journal of Discourses 7:19-20; What do you say, brethren and sisters? Do you not think it best for us to do right, each person individually being led by the dictations of the Holy Spirit, listening diligently to those who are appointed to lead, govern, and dictate this people? You know what I mean by this. President Young is our governor and our dictator. It is for me to walk with him, and for you to walk with those who go before you.” – Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, July 16, 1854

Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest, November 17th, My goal is God

Himself … At any cost, dear Lord, by any road.

I would think the best one to listen to would be the Holy Spirit don’t you?  Why should anyone submit themselves to a dictator?

    (dictator)

Just because a word has one meaning today does not mean it meant the same thing when it was spoken. Dictator was not a bad word until it was associated with bad leaders.

Another example would be the word intercourse. Originally, it meant to communicate, but it was used with sexual so often that now intercourse is only defined as a sexual act.

Funny you’d mention that Fred. We just so happen to have a link to an online 1828 dictionary. Here’s the link for the word dictator. http://1828.mshaffer.com/d/word/dictator

As you’ll see it meant the same thing then as it does now.

Just so we know you are not trying to imply the newer definition as it looks like you were doing; because you did not reference the older dictionary.

Absolute ruler, absolute authority. Read up on the history of Herod and find out that he was the Hitler of the ancient times.

And Fred, people outside of Mormonism typically know how to find research materials. Just because I didn’t reference a dictionary doesn’t mean I’m hiding anything. You obviously are smart enough to look for one and I’m certain others will do the same.
