Restoration of the Gospel

Perfection Pending, and Other Favorite Discourses, pg 193; “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been restored in these latter days to fulfill ancient promises of the Lord. It is part of the “restitution of all things.”” – Russell M. Nelson

1 Cor. 15:1-4; “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”.

As I read over the statement made by Mr. Nelson I felt a sickening feeling come over me. The “Restitution of all things” simply means they’re implementing works for salvation and have thrown out everything Jesus did on the cross. They’ve rejected God’s true plan of salvation for a manmade edict they’ve thought up.

It was as if the evil one was coaxing the trusting saint to follow him on a path of untruths.  How scary it is when unsuspecting people are enticed by the false promises they give out!
