1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
A meme on Stuff You Missed in Sunday School caught my attention earlier this week. See image on left. While everyone knows the Church has money, this news may surprise some.
Utah based KUTV.com, reported that after digging around, MormonLeaks, one of the Church’s latest nemesis, had big news on the Church’s financial status. FYI: the original report came out in May 2018.
Apparently, the Church is affiliated with 13 LLC’s. When MormonLeaks started making phone calls to get more info on the Church’s involvement, only one representative admitted the Church’s ties to an investment corporation. For more info and a list of who they are, see MormonLeaks: LDS Church connected to at least $32B in U.S. stock market.
The news from Mormon Leaks makes Russell Nelson’s statement that Kenyans should pony up to go to the temple in South Africa all the more damning. See Shameful LDS African Tour on how it’d cost a Kenyan 36% of their yearly income to fulfill their mandate.
We found it odd they claim to be a corporation, and at the same time want to be known as a church who wants to share the gospel…
Shame on them.
With Love in Christ;
