Little Red Wagons Filled with Extra-biblical Scripture

12 November

Acts 17:11; “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

Today’s post is a result of a couple of interesting quotes stemming from a PowerPoint a-wonderful-flood-of-light Presentation I found in a Google Web-cache. You can read it online, or watch a Video of Mr. Neal Maxwell’s presentation which contains most of what’s included in the PPT, The  BYU Youtube version is called, ‘A Wonderful Flood of Light’, but fair warning: it’s 45 minutes long!

OR, if those two formats don’t strike your fancy, you can purchase the book from Amazon. We found the book is actually a compilation of Joseph Smith quotes Mr.  Maxwell really liked, and the subsequent extolling of Smith, none of which had anything to do with God’s word.

For our purpose here today, we’re looking at two things Mr. Maxwell said because they’re just odd. The claims he made are outrageously fallacious, and to be honest, quite childish.

A Wonderful Flood of Light, p.18; “… Jeffrey R. Holland has pointed out, more books or pages of scripture have come to us through Joseph Smith than from any other prophet; more even than from Moses, Luke, Paul, and Mormon combined! (Letter to author from Jeffrey R. Holland, February 18, 1986.)” …

Ironically, the same could be said of Stephen King. I’ve never counted the number of pages there are to each of his works, but thus far, he’s the author of 60 books, and 200 short stories. Certainly, Mr. King isn’t inspired of God, and neither is Joe Smith.

Being a prolific writer doesn’t qualify one as ‘inspired of God’!

A Wonderful Flood of Light, p.18; “Many more scriptural writings will yet come to us, including those of Enoch (see D&C 107:57), all of the writings of the Apostle John (see Ether 4:16), the records of the lost tribes of Israel (see 2 Nephi 29:13), and the approximately two-thirds of the Book of Mormon plates that were sealed: “And the day cometh that the words of the book which were sealed shall be read upon the house tops; and they shall be read by the power of Christ; and all things shall be revealed unto the children of men which ever have been among the children of men, and which ever will be even unto the end of the earth” (2 Nephi 27:11).

What he didn’t say is that Mormons have to be obedient in order to ‘qualify’ for extra blessings, before God reveals any new scripture. This is a classic game of dangling a carrot in the face of the unknowing…

Maxwell continued on his charade of trickery by filling the tired hopes of TBM’s (true believing Mormons, or true blue Mormons), with more tantalizing unknowns, and ‘only if’s’ down a rabbit hole of no-return.

Today we carry convenient quadruple combinations of the scriptures, but one day, since more scriptures are coming, we may need to pull little red wagons brimful with books.” – Neal A. Maxwell

We’re praying Mormons will wake up to the ruse their church has been tricking them with for the past 200 years! The ONLY way to prevent more trickery from taking place is to open the Bible, and compare what God has said, to the claims of the LDS Church.

Furthermore, a devoted student would only have to open their own ‘quad’ to see the horrific lies entrenched therein.

All ex-Mormons know the same thing. Anti-Mormon propaganda didn’t lead them out of the Church. What leads people out of the Church is their own canon. It damns them.

Before the internet came along, this is what led me out of the Church. A simple piece of paper, a pencil, and my 3-in-1. I started taking notes and compared one side filled with LDS doctrines, to the other side of the paper, filled with biblical passages.

I soon discovered I had been lied to, and none of the claims from my beloved heritage were true. The only thing left for me to do was leave, and start a new life in Jesus.
