LDS General Authority Excommunicated

For the first time in almost thirty years, the LDS Church has ex-communicated a General Authority. After a disciplinary hearing, James J. Hamula, a member of the Seventies, was officially ‘let go’ of his duties.

Mr. Hamula was originally called to his position in 2008. He served in various positions, which included callings in New Zealand, until 2014. At that time he was transferred stateside to serve at the Church History Department from 2014-2016, and his final position as executive director of the Correlation Department.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the reason for Hamula’s excommunication ‘was not for apostasy or disillusionment’.

After perusing some popular chat rooms, we got the impression the reason why he was ‘ex-ed’ is for one of the reasons the Church listed as why he wasn’t let go. This wouldn’t surprise us at all given the Church’s track record, and where Mr. Hamula was working at the time of his departure.

Only time will tell if we’ll know the true story in the near future, but one thing is certain right now. He and his family need to know the true Jesus of the Bible, and they need the prayers of true believing Christians!

We’re praying Jesus will intercede on his behalf, and place Christians in his life who will share the truth with him, his wife, and their six children! Come alongside us to pray!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle

    ‘After perusing some popular chat rooms, we got the impression the reason why he was ‘ex-ed’ is for one of the reasons the Church listed as why he wasn’t let go.’ Yes, seems odd to mention why he WASN”T ex-ed. In other words, that is exactly why he was ex-ed! Why ‘the only true church’ has to lie about it all is pathetic.

      Agreed! It seems rather odd!
      And why they felt compelled to say anything is odd too. Why not just excommunicate him and keep silent? Good grief…
