Joseph’s Consent Needed for Salvation in 2019

14 June

Today we’re looking at a speech Brigham Young delivered 158 years ago that’s still in effect today. Pray for all Mormons who believe his lies!

Also…

Pray for the Christian ministries with boots on the ground as we speak. Many have made the trip to last ‘Miracle in Manti‘ Pageant. This LDS production has been going on for decades now, but with Mr. Nelson’s directives, they’ve been eliminated.

Many Christians will go with tracts in hand, and witness to the thousands of Mormons who’ve turned this event into their yearly family vacation. Nestled in the hills of Utah, Manti is virtually unknown if not for the yearly pageants. The surrounding communities are swamped with polygamous families still in operation. One of our faithful visitors to this site will be in attendance as well! (Praying for you Melissa B.!)

When Kirk and I visited the pageant years ago, groups of women donned in long skirts and bright pink t-shirts came up to argue the benefits of polygamy. Their t-shirts said, ‘Help stamp out monogamy’. Oh my…

Now for our LDS reference –

Journal of Discourses 7:290 “Should not this thought comfort all people? They will, by-and-by, be a thousand times more thankful for such a man as Joseph Smith, junior, than it is possible for them to be for any earthly good whatever. It is his mission to see that all the children of men in this last dispensation are saved, that can be, through the redemption.

What about Jesus Mr. Young? Where does He fit in with the Mormon ‘plan of salvation’?

Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” [emp. added]

You will be thankful, every one of you, that Joseph Smith, junior, was ordained to this great calling before the worlds were. I told you that the doctrine of election and reprobation is a true doctrine. It was decreed in the counsels of eternity, long before the foundations of the earth were laid, that he should be the man, in the last dispensation of this world, to bring forth the word of God to the people, and receive the fulness of the keys and power of the Priesthood of the Son of God.

According to Jesus, the word of God had already been ‘brought forth to the people’. Joe Smith had nothing to do with it!

Matthew 5:18 “For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.”

Furthermore, Jesus is the only true priesthood holder.

Hebrews 7:24 “But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.”

The Lord had his eye upon him, and upon his father, and upon his father’s father, and upon their progenitors clear back to Abraham, and from Abraham to the flood, from the flood to Enoch, and from Enoch to Adam. He has watched that family and that blood as it has circulated from its fountain to the birth of that man.

The Lord has known each of us from the moment of our conception, and has done so throughout eternity.

Psalm 139:7 “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?”

Matthew 10:30 “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”

He was foreordained in eternity to preside over this last dispensation, as much so as Pharaoh was fore-ordained to be a wicked man, or as was Jesus to be the Saviour of the world because he was the oldest son in the family.” — Brigham Young, Great Salt Lake City, October 9, 1859

Oh beloved, Jesus has been the head of this dispensation since it began. Those who don’t believe, have rejected Him.

And honestly, why have they mentioned an evil man like Pharaoh with this?

Moreover, Brigham’s words are a clear reason why the Mormon people are confused about Jesus’ identity! To believe Jesus is the Savior of the world because He was the oldest son is blasphemy. Why didn’t Brigham mention what God had already revealed?

Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon his shoulder: And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” [emp. added]

Please, pray for those who still believe these lies. Although Brigham spoke these lies 158 years ago, they’re still a mainstay in Mormon thought today.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
