Joseph Smith: Hide Truth about Mormonism

02 February

Awhile ago I discovered a telling reference in the book, ‘Mormons, How to Witness to Them’ by John R. Farkas and David A. Reed. Their work is a great reminder of how wrong Mormonism is, and how the Church goes out of its way to deceive.

The subject we’re looking at today is how Joseph Smith defined the phrase, ‘The First Principles of the Gospel’. The following is a quote from their book followed by the info in their investigation.

“There are many countries in the world where the Mormon missionaries are present on a full-time basis, and two of the LDS scripture (Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price) are not available in the language of those countries. [9] Perhaps this is intentional, in harmony with the directions given by Joseph Smith in June 1837”

June 11, 1837

History of the Church 2:492 “My instructions to the brethren were, when they arrived in England, to adhere closely to the first principles of the Gospel, and remain silent concerning the gathering, the vision, and the Book of Doctrine and Covenants, until such time as the work was fully established, and it should be clearly made manifest by the Spirit to do otherwise.” — Joseph Smith [emp. added]

1842

Articles of Faith 1:4 “We believe that the first principlesand ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Also see  Articles of Faith #4, p. 98.

History of the Church 6:305 “It is the first principle of the gospel to know for a certainty the character of God and to know that we may converse with him as one man converses with another, and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God himself the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth as Jesus Christ himself did…”

The things they were hiding was Smith’s polytheistic god, and their polygamous lifestyle.

Questions  –

If you’re a godly organization, why are you hiding some of the things you believe?

Why do you keep changing the definition of your first principles?

This is another example of how this church’s tenets evolve and can’t be trusted. The only thing that’s really changed in Mormonism is the date on the calendar.

With Love in Christ;
