Joseph Smith and Harold Camping
Another End of the World Prophecy Gone Bad
Only the good Lord knows and has kept track of all the doomsday prophets of this world. There was Jim Jones in the ’70’s and Harold Camping today. According to Time Magazine, Camping predicted the world would end yesterday, May 22, 2011. It’s a good thing he was wrong because I was attending our neighbor’s wedding when the supposed end was predicted!
Time reported the pastor as saying “89-year-old Harold Camping is preaching with utter certainty about the end of the world. “May 21, 2011, is the day of judgment,” he says with conviction, in a YouTube video posted last year. “It is the day that ends all gospel salvation activity … It is the most important day by a billion times than any other day the world has ever known.””
History of the Church 2:182; “…and it was the will of God that those who went Zion, with a determination to lay down their lives, if necessary, should be ordained to the ministry, and go forth to prune the vineyard for the last time, or the coming of the Lord, which was nigh—even fifty-six years should wind up the scene.”
21And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
22When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”
The End according to Christ not Harold Camping.
It’s good to expect the return of The Savior
but isn’t it wiser to get the answer from the source.
Listen to the words in the song below. Tedd Webb
of WFLA Tampa calls it “Hauntingly accurate.”
