Journal of Discourses 8:339; “But the greatest and most important of all requirements of our Father in heaven and of his Son Jesus Christ, is, to his brethren or disciples, to believe in Jesus Christ, confess him, seek to him, cling to him, make friends with him.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, January 20, 1861
John 15:13-14; “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.”
I find this so odd. The Church has always told their followers that it is a false doctrine to believe you can be friends with Jesus. Growing up in the Church I always looked at having a relationship with Him like my Aunt Lulu had with her brother, Butch Cassidy.
