God’s Salvation v. My Personal Best

05 October

General Conference, ‘Keeping Life’s Demands in Balance,’April 1987“Just do the very best you can each day. Do the basic things and, before you realize it, your life will be full of spiritual understanding that will confirm to you that your Heavenly Father loves you. When a person knows this, then life will be full of purpose and meaning, making balance easier to maintain.” — President M. Russell Ballard

Romans 7:18 “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.”

Until I came to the end of myself and accepted Jesus, nothing I ever did was okay. It didn’t matter what it was, or how hard I tried, the imaginary goal was never met.

The only way this was resolved was by accepting the fact I’m a sinner in need of redemption. The Church’s apostle has given ill advice that’ll keep members trying, and getting nowhere fast.

Ephesians 2:8-9 ‘For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.’

With Love in Christ;
