God’s Revealed Will vs. Searching for Revelation on Your Own

Ensign, ‘And Upon the Handmaidens in Those Days Will I Pour Out My Spirit,’ May 2010; “The ability to qualify for, receive, and act on personal revelation is the single most important skill that can be acquired in this life.” – Julie Beck

Jeremiah 9:23-24; “Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.”

1 Corinthians 2:10; “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.”

Knowing and understanding God is the most important thing for a Christian to desire and pursue in this life, not personal revelation.

The ability to know, and understand how God reveals His will to His children doesn’t require that you perform a set of works so that you may be “qualified” to receive the personal knowledge His has for you.

If you have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside you, are prayerful each day, and study His word He will reveal His will for you.
