General Conference, ‘The Eternal Family,’ October 1996; “While our individual salvation is based on our individual obedience, it is equally important that we understand that we are each an important and integral part of a family and the highest blessings can be received only within an eternal family.” – Robert D. Hales [emp. mine]
D&C 130:1–2; “When the Savior shall appear we shall see him as he is. We shall see that he is a man like ourselves. 2 And that same sociality which exists among us here will exist among us there, only it will be coupled with eternal glory, which glory we do not now enjoy”
Psalms 73:25; “Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.”
After I became a Christian it seemed God wrote the Bible in response to Joe Smith’s ideologies. It didn’t take long before I figured out that Smith built his religion by changing every doctrine in God’s precious word. Today is yet another example of the deceit he employed.
The ‘families are forever’ plan is at, or near, the top of every Mormon’s idea of heaven. When I was LDS I didn’t think about being in Jesus’ presence because thoughts of my family superseded all else. Because of my ignorance, I totally missed what His word said about our subject matter today.
Pray the Lord will open a door for you to share Psalm 73 with a Mormon this week!
