Four Lies Mormon Leaders Told in the Holy Land

17 April

Luke 19:41 “And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it”.

LDS Church News, ‘Prophet Visits the Holy Land,’ April 2018; “The reason why prophets are needed is because Heavenly Father wants His children to have the opportunity to come home to Him,”…“God has always dealt with His children on the earth through prophets, but He wants them to choose to come home. So those people who choose to obey the commandments [given through prophets] will have that opportunity to return home with their families in eternal life together,” said President Nelson…

…“This is a legendary land,” Elder Holland said. “It’s a spine-tingling thrill for me to realize that I’m in the company of President Russell M. Nelson, a modern prophet in every sense that they were ancient prophets [in Jerusalem in biblical times] with the same authority and the same priesthood and teaching the same gospel.”

Elder Holland continued, “Our living testimony today is we have a living prophet this very hour on this soil standing in this land teaching that same doctrine.”

Our LDS reference today came from the ‘Church News’ we found on the front page of their website.

We found a few ‘problems’ as you might imagine! Take a look at what they said, and what our Lord says in His word –

1.‘God has always dealt with His children on the earth through prophets’…

God did that until His Son Jesus came to earth, and now He speaks through Him! Heb. 1:1-2

2.’… return home with their families in eternal life together…’

Man has never been in heaven (1 Cor 15:44-47), and we aren’t going to be living in family groups, just as Jesus said in Luke 16:19-31, because there are no marriages in heaven.

3. ‘…a modern prophet in every sense that they were ancient prophets [in Jerusalem in biblical times] with the same authority and the same priesthood and teaching the same gospel.’

Mormon prophets do not have the same authority as the OT biblical prophets.

Moreover, biblical prophets were never priests.

The prophet officiates from God to man, and the priest officiates from man to God. See Leviticus 21:16-23, and Exodus 7:1-2.

4.‘Our living testimony today is we have a living prophet this very hour on this soil standing in this land teaching that same doctrine.’

That statement is patently false. There’s not one trait in Mormonism that resembles anything biblical at all. While there are countless examples of why this is wrong, one shall suffice.

Not one OT prophet told people they had to believe in Joe Smith in order to get to heaven.

Please, pray for those like my mother who will read and believe these lies. The image they included with their story reminded me of when the Bible told us Jesus looked over Jerusalem and wept. They are truly incorrigible.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
