Family Share

07 May

familyshareA few days ago while on Facebook I noticed numerous pages by a group called Family Share. At first glance the titles of the pages seem unassuming, and with titles like I love my family, I love my mom, and I love my dog they sound more like something a child would create instead of the blatant deception they are.

As I further investigated the pages I noticed a pattern, most of the pages have the same “I love…….” mantra with one very clear, one very noticeable expectation? I’m referring to the Family Share Facebook page titled “I Am A Child of God”. This may mean nothing to most Christians, but for a former Mormon this, plus the use of the word “family” in the name of their organization screams MORMONISM.

It only took me a quick search and a few clicks with the mouse to learn I was correct, and I really didn’t want to be right. I wanted to believe this organization was genuine, and truly something Christians could enjoy without being subliminally indoctrinated on Mormonism. But unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

On the website for Meridian Magazine, in an article posted on January 14, 2013 we read:
“FamilyShare.com, run by Deseret Digital Media, is owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, under the Deseret Management Corporation. Deseret Digital Media also runs KSL.com and DeseretNews.com. As with KSL.com and DeseretNews.com, this is not an official publication of the Church.”

We can also read of Family Share’s origins here on LDS Media Talk:

“FamilyShare.com is a new website that is loaded with practical advice and tips to strengthen families and marriages. Deseret Digital Media (owned by the LDS Church) launched FamilyShare.com with the mission to enlighten, strengthen, and inspire hundreds of millions of families worldwide.”

While Family Share may not be an “official publication” of the Church, it has its fingerprints all over it.

Why the need for the disguise?

Why do they feel the need to hide who they truly are?

What I find most heartbreaking in all of this is the amount of Christians who have no idea what they’ve subscribed to in “liking” these pages. Daily their news feeds on their social media sites are being inundated with little whispers of Mormonism, and they haven’t a clue what they’ve truly gotten themselves into.
Well that has to end.

I hope my short little article helps someone from being deceived by them. If you’ve already liked one or more of their pages I’m not saying you should unlike them. You’ve been informed of who they really are now, now you know they’re lost and don’t know the one true and living God. If you feel so inclined you can now share the truth with them, and witness to those Mormons who are on these pages, or at least inform your friends and family who have also “liked” these pages so that they know just who Family Share truly is as well.

In Christ,

I found out the same thing, and was thankful and grateful to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as I have been an active member for over 34 years. I have a deep testimony of my Saviour Jesus Christ, and know that He lives, and that this is His true church. This website is not deceptive, but most helpful. If you humble your spirit, and let The Lord show you, you can know for yourself that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is not a philosophy or man made church, but it is our Heavenly Father’s true church on this earth, restored to its fullest in the last days to prepare the lives of men and women for His return and His great work on the Earth.

      Maree,
You learned the same thing, and was “thankful and grateful” for the Church’s deception? Why? How is this bringing glory to God?

I can’t tell you how it hurts my heart to see over and over again Mormons accepting and defending the antics of their religion all because they’ve been taught to believe it’s His church. Well it’s not! Jesus didn’t come to set up a “church” or a religion, He came to save people from their sin. He took on the punishment of our sins, and sacrificed Himself on the cross so that we won’t have to spend eternity in hell separated from God.

I really hope Mormons don’t find this site deceptive, but helpful in leading them to Jesus Christ. I used to be just like them. I busied myself with all the things I was told I must do if I wanted to be exalted into the Celestial Kingdom and spend eternity with my family. Sadly I never fully understood that Jesus had already paid the price for my salvation, and freedom with His blood. As I think about it now what more did I really think I could do to merit my salvation, after His sacrifice?

A few years ago the Lord humbled my rebellious, mean, condescending heart and He showed me the truth of who He is, how I needed to repent, leave Mormonism and follow Him.

What exactly did Joseph Smith restore? To say something needed to be restored suggests it was lost, correct? So when we’re talking about Jesus and His gospel, and in the same sentence say something needed to be “restored” doesn’t that diminish the supremacy of Jesus Christ? He came to save the world, He fulfilled the requirements of the Law, and said that He was the way, the truth and the life, and the only way to eternal life is through Him. Then Joseph Smith comes along and completely rips what Jesus said to shreds.

In the end you only have two choices believe Jesus or believe Joseph Smith, it’s up to you.

      Hi,

I am jewish and I am going to work for them. If I can sell it and believe in it why does it make it mormonism?

It is meant to be non denominational and if it wasn’t I wouldn’t be behind it as fully as I am. If people can’t have faith and believe in family then the world is just sad for everyone.

Please give it a chance before you judge it so harshly. I really hope it is successful. It has been so far,
Thanks in advance for your open mind.

Hi Maree, I just happened to see your comment. I appreciate that your comment was written with a gentle spirit, while you have been an LDS for 34 years, I have been reading and studying the Bible for 20 years, and the Lord called me into the area of Apologetics about 12 years ago. I’ve been talking to, and studying about the LDS church for most of those 12 years. I can tell you with all confidence, the “Savior” that is believed in and followed by those who are LDS is certainly not the Savior of history.
God the Father is Spirit (John 4:24) and is eternal, self-existing, having neither beginning or end, always has been, was never brought into existence, He is Creator (Isaiah 40:28) and Savior (Isaiah 43:11). There is only 1 being of God in all of existence (Isaiah 43:10,11).
Yet Joseph Smith, Jr. led thousands, and today there are millions who follow a god who used to be a man, procreated of mortal parents on another planet, near the planet Kolob… who also physically procreated his own son, believed to be Jesus Christ, who they say is a creation, and spirit brother to Lucifer.
John 1:3 says that Jesus created *all* things, and nothing exists that was not made through Him. This means that Jesus is Creator also of Lucifer! … so how could Christ be his brother?
He cannot. It is a false teaching on the part of the LDS church, along with so many other teachings. 🙁
My heart goes out to all of those who have put their trust in this man (JSJ), in this church (The Church of “Jesus Christ” of Latter Day Saints.
I know you have invested your life into this church, but Maree, I would like to encourage you to begin really reading your Bible, and just your Bible.
Your church has convinced you that it has been corrupted, consult any Hebrew or Greek contextual scholar regarding this subject on the ancient texts… they are intact. They are trustworthy. I began 20 years ago on a journey to find out if the Bible is true (and this was long before the Mormon faith was even on my radar!), and I learned that it is true!

I would be happy to answer any and all questions that you might have. My email is michael845760@att.net

      God bless you.

I was wondering if FamilyShare.com was ran and/or owned by the mormon church. I was pleased to find out that it is. Thanks for the info. Have a good day!
