False Teachings and Prophecies of the Mormon Church

Perfection is a Command

Ensign, November 2009, pg. 33; The Lord does not expect that we do what we cannot achieve. The command to become perfect, as He is, encourages us to achieve the best of ourselves, to discover and develop the talents and attributes with which we are blessed by a loving Eternal Father, who invites us to realize our potential as children of God. He knows us; He knows of our capacities and our limitations. The invitation and challenge to become perfect, to achieve eternal life is for all mankind.” – Jorge F. Zeballos

Matthew 5:48; Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

The Greek word for perfect is “teleios”.  It means growth, mental and moral character, with completeness to full age.

This is one of the most dangerous and heretical teachings of the Mormon Church.  Teaching this lie promotes shame which is almost impossible to drag yourself out from under when everyone around you is living the lie and pretending that their lives are perfect.  The truth is that most Mormons live their lives feeling like they’re the only ones who haven’t attained the same imaginary pinnacle everyone else has.

If you think I’m making this up just take a look at the vital stats of Utah.  I produce a report every 2 years on the suicide rate in Utah compared to other states in the Union.  The number one and two cause of death in Utah is suicide for several of the age categories.

Everybody’s trying to live up to some standard that is unreachable, unreasonable and untruthful.  The Jesus of the Bible would never do this to people.  He wouldn’t demand something of you that is impossible to attain.

The answer of course is finding the real Jesus and knowing His instructions to us.  Teach a Mormon today about Concordances!

Pray for the Mormon people when it comes to this issue please!  While the majority of Mormons seem like they have it all together on the outside, the inner man tells another story.
