False Prophecies of the Mormon Church

FALSE PROPHECIES

We receive more requests for information on the false prophecies of the LDS Church than I can count.  So in light of these events, we’ve assembled several that we’ll be posting for now but come back often to see the updates!

Above all, to establish what a false prophecy is, we must first turn to the Bible.  I was being interviewed on a radio show when the host of the show asked me if we could discern true prophets by the prophecies that come true.  Without trying to sound ambiguous, the answer to that is no, we cannot; and yes, that is part of it.  If a man calls himself a prophet, and his prophecy comes true then yes, it’s a good sign he is from God.  However,  if that prophet prophecies a word and claims it is of God and it is proven false, then it doesn’t matter how many he got right before or after the false prophecy; he’s a false prophet.

An important part of Mormonism is understanding that it believes the living prophet of the day is more important than any prophet from the past.  This as  you can imagine, can and does lead to confusion and a lack of understanding the nature and character of God.  There is no consistency!

The LDS Church says in “Answers to Your Questions about the Doctrine and Covenants”, pg. 4; “”The most important prophet, so far as we are concerned,” affirmed President Ezra Taft Benson, “is the one who is living in our day and age. This is the prophet who has today’s instructions from God to us today. God’s revelation to Adam did not instruct Noah how to build the ark. Every generation has need of the ancient scripture plus the current scripture from the living prophet. Therefore, the most crucial reading and pondering which you should do is of the latest inspired words from the Lord’s mouthpiece. That is why it is essential that you have access to and carefully read his words in current Church publications” (in Korea Area Conference Report, 1975, 52).”

The God of the Bible has given us several examples of how we can discern what He wants for us to know, so let’s begin in His word before we delve into LDS theology.   God has always had this thing about being consistent so it’s fairly easy to find the subjects needed and know there aren’t any new updates to worry about!  Here are a few examples and I’m sure you’ll be able to get more for your own studies.

Deuteronomy 13:5; “And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.”

Deut. 18:20-22; “But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.  And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?  When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”

Jer. 28:9; “The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him.”

All About Jesus

 Where was Jesus born?

Alma 7:10; “And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.”

Luke 2:15; “And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.”

The LDS Church tells its members that these two cities are actually “suburbs” of each other.  This is not true!  Bethlehem and Jerusalem are about eight miles apart from each other.

From Doctrinal Commentary on the Book of Mormon, 3:51; “These words have spawned a host of heckles and sneers directed at the Book of Mormon. Persons of a skeptical and cynical spirit ask: “Didn’t Joseph Smith know that Jesus was born of Mary in Bethlehem?” We answer: Yes, he was born in Bethlehem, but he was also born at Jerusalem, meaning that Bethlehem, the smaller community, was within the environs of Jerusalem, the larger city. In our day it would be as if someone froth [sic] Sandy or even Provo, Utah, had said to one somewhat unfamiliar with the Wasatch Front, “I am from Salt Lake City.” (See A Sure Foundation, pp. 3-4.)

Jesus Crucified for Our Sins.

1 Nephi 11:33; “And I, Nephi, saw that he was lifted up upon the cross and slain for the sins of the world.”

Doctrines of Salvation 1:132; “We will never be able to pay the debt. The gratitude of our hearts should be filled to overflowing in love and obedience for his great and tender mercy. For what he has done, we should never fail him. He bought us with a price, the price of his great suffering and the spilling of his blood in sacrifice on the cross.”

So far so good, right?  Wrong!  Read on to see for yourself…

Jesus Bled in Garden of Gethsemane for Our Sins.

D&C 19:18; “Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink…”

Doctrines of Salvation 1:130; “We speak of the passion of Jesus Christ. A great many people have an idea that when he was on the cross, and nails were driven into his hands and feet, that was his great suffering. His great suffering was before he ever was placed upon the cross. It was in the Garden of Gethsemane that the blood oozed from the pores of his body: “Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit-and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink,””

As you can plainly see these two sets of verses from their various doctrines obviously contradict each other.  Thus, the qualification to be listed in the false prophecy section of this website!  Take notice that the contradictions from Doctrines of Salvation are only two pages apart!

The main focus of this particular subject cannot be talked about too much.  While all members of the LDS Church will tell you that Jesus died on the cross for their sins, it is rare when I encounter a Mormon who actually believes that.  When push comes to shove they really believe that He paid for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane.  In Luke 22:44 it says; “And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”

They say this one verse is proof that Jesus paid for our sins in the Garden, not on the cross.

Jesus made the final sacrifice.

Alma 34 – the entire chapter.  This is pretty much the gospel from verse 8 to 41.  Pay close attention to verse 15 which says; “And thus he shall bring salvation to all those who shall believe on his name; this being the intent of this last sacrifice, to bring about the bowels of mercy, which overpowereth justice, and bringeth about means unto men that they may have faith unto repentance.”

Also see Alma 34:33b-4; “…behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.  Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world.”

Joseph Smith contradicted either himself or the Mormon god with the following revelation from the Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 330;But how are they [LDS] to become saviors on Mount Zion? By building their temples, erecting their baptismal fonts, and going forth and receiving all the ordinances, baptisms, confirmations, washings, anointings, ordinations and sealing powers upon their heads, in behalf of all their progenitors who are dead, and redeem them that they may come forth in the first resurrection and be exalted to thrones of glory with them…”

Darkness at Jesus’ Crucifixion.

Helaman 14:27 says; “And he said unto me that while the thunder and the lightning lasted, and the tempest, that these things should be, and that darkness should cover the face of the whole earth for the space of three days.”

3 Nephi 8:3; “And the people began to look with great earnestness for the sign which had been given by the prophet Samuel, the Lamanite, yea, for the time that there should be darkness for the space of three days over the face of the land.”

Also see 1 Nephi 19:10 and 3 Nephi 8:23 which say there were three days of darkness.

Matt. 27:48; “Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.”

It is a well documented fact that there were only three hours of darkness on that day.  You can read historical as well as biblical accounts of this miracle.  Historically speaking it is recorded in “The Report of Pontius Pilate which was sent to Tiberius Caesar in Rome” (written by G.D. Bouw, 1992 in “Lost Books, pg. 276-7) for just one example.

Jesus is God.

Mosiah 5:15; “Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent, may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen.”

Mosiah 13:34; “Have they not said that God himself should come down among the children of men, and take upon him the form of man, and go forth in mighty power upon the face of the earth?”

Introductory Page of BoM:  “Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God.”

Alma11:26-35, 44; This particular passage states that Jesus is God as is the Holy Spirit.  It also states there is only ONE God.

This sounds like the Trinity that the historical Judeo-Christian church has always believed in!  As time went on in Joseph Smith’s life, the teachings became more and more bizarre.  The latter teachings of Joseph Smith are what the Mormon Church of today adheres to.  People like my own mother wouldn’t have a clue that the Church originally taught about the orthodox Triune God.

Doctrines of Salvation 1:32; “Our Savior was a God before he was born into this world, and he brought with him that same status when he came here. He was as much a God when he was born into the world as he was before. But as far as this life is concerned it appears that he had to start just as all other children do and gain his knowledge line upon line.”

D&C 130:22; “The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.”

Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 372; “Many men say there is one God; the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are only one God. I say that is a strange God anyhow three in one, and one in three! It is a curious organization. “Father, I pray not for the world, but I pray for them which thou hast given me.” “Holy Father, keep through Thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one as we are.” All are to be crammed into one God, according to sectarianism. It would make the biggest God in all the world. He would be a wonderfully big God—he would be a giant or a monster.”

BC 544 – 421; They believed in Christ and Kept Law of Moses.

Jacob 4:5; “Behold, they believed in Christ and worshiped the Father in his name, and also we worship the Father in his name. And for this intent we keep the law of Moses, it pointing our souls to him; and for this cause it is sanctified unto us for righteousness, even as it was accounted unto Abraham in the wilderness to be obedient unto the commands of God in offering up his son Isaac, which is a similitude of God and his Only Begotten Son.

Need I say more?

All About God

Decrees of God Unalterable.

Alma 41:8; “Now, the decrees of God are unalterable; therefore, the way is prepared that whosoever will may walk therein and be saved.”

Mormon Doctrine, pg. 527; “In all past ages and until recent times in this dispensation, the Lord did not offer the priesthood to the Negroes. However, on June 1, 1978, in the Salt Lake Temple, in the presence of the First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve, President Spencer W. Kimball received a revelation from the Lord directing that the gospel and the priesthood should now go to all men without reference to race or color.”

This serves as just one example of how the god of Mormonism does indeed change his mind and therefore qualifies as a false prophecy.

God is unchanging.

Mormon 9:9-10; “For do we not read that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and in him there is no variableness neither shadow of changing?  And now, if ye have imagined up unto yourselves a god who doth vary, and in whom there is shadow of changing, then have ye imagined up unto yourselves a god who is not a God of miracles.”

Moroni8:18; “For I know that God is not a partial God, neither a changeable being; but he is unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity.”

In addition to that, there are of course more contradictions within the LDS “scriptures” and teachings.  From Gospel Through the Ages, pg. 107;In the words of Dr. John A. Widtsoe, “God and man are of the same race, differing only in their degrees of advancement.”  Additional light is thrown on the subject by Charles W. Penrose:  To know God we must know ourselves. All the personal attributes which are ascribed to God by inspired men, we find in ourselves. . . . Mormonism does not tend to debase God to the level of man, but to exalt man to the perfection of God.”

God is progressive and advancing.

Articles of Faith, pg. 390; “We believe in a God who is Himself progressive, whose majesty is intelligence; whose perfection consists in eternal advancement—a Being who has attained His exalted state…In spite of the opposition of the sects, in the face of direct charges of blasphemy, the Church proclaims the eternal truth: “As man is, God once was; as God is, man may be.”

The two sets of examples above give you another idea of why the Mormon people are often in a state of confusion.  They know they’ve been told that God is always the same, yet he was once a man who progressed to the state of godhood.

The doctrine contradicting itself has qualified as a false prophecy, but in addition to their “scripture” we also have the word of God which proves the untruthfulness in this prophecy.

Numbers 23:19 says; “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

Eternal Progression.

Distinct Doctrines and Teachings of the PofGP, pg. 76;“He [the Father] will then take a higher exaltation, [that is, in glory] and I [Jesus] shall take his place, and thereby become exalted myself. So that Jesus treads in the tracks of his Father, and inherits what God did before; and God is thus glorified and exalted in the salvation and exaltation of all his children….

God’s wrath late being poured out.

D&C 101:11; “Mine indignation is soon to be poured out without measure upon all nations; and this will I do when the cup of their iniquity is full.”

As of 2006, it’s been 176 yrs.  What is the meaning of “soon”?

No other gods but God

Joseph Smith Translation Bible – Is. 45:21; “Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together; who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no god else beside me; a just God, and a Savior; there is none beside me.”

KJV Bible –Is. 45:21-2; “Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.  Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.”

The Miracle of Forgiveness, pg. 3; “The scriptures point clearly to the high purpose of man’s existence…records made available to us through the modern Prophet Joseph Smith Through him God has abundantly confirmed that man is the supreme creation, made in the image and similitude of God and his Son, Jesus Christ… having within him the seeds of godhood and thus being a god in embryo, man has unlimited potential for progress and attainment.”

All About the Holy Spirit/Ghost

Who or What is the Holy Ghost/Spirit?

Mormon Doctrine pg. 358; “The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead. He is a Personage of Spirit, a Spirit Person, a Spirit Man, a Spirit Entity. He can be in only one place at one time and he does not and cannot transform himself into any other form or image than that of the Man whom he is, though his power and influence can be manifest at one and the same time through all immensity. (D. & C. 130:22-23; Teachings, p. 190, 275 276; Gospel Doctrine, 5th ed., pp. 59-62.)

3 Nephi 19:6; “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Isaiah 9:6; “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

2 Nephi 31:21; “And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this is the way; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen.”

Acts 4:12; “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Notice the similarities between the Mormon doctrine and what the Bible says, yet the LDS Church teaches the Bible has been mistranslated.  The other obvious problem is truth.  1 – Their understanding of the Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit is not the same as that of the body of Christ.  They believe “it” is two different “entities”.  2 – The doctrine contradicts itself with the reality of what they really believe.  They do not believe He is part of the Trinity.

This is a classic example of what Jesus warned the people about in Mark 13:21-3; “And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.  But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.”

This is why we at Life After Ministries have this website and why we expose the darkness of these teachings.  It isn’t to bash or to be rude to the people of Mormonism, on the contrary!  The doctrine and the people are not the same thing!  On the surface Mormonism looks great, it uses the same terminology in many ways and the people are sincere about their faith.  They aren’t out there to deliberately lie to the world, but what they’re passing on to the next generation and the unsuspecting public is not truth.

All About Salvation

Redemption from the Fall

Ether 3:13: “And when he had said these words, behold, the Lord showed himself unto him, and said: Because thou knowest these things ye are redeemed from the fall; therefore ye are brought back into my presence; therefore I show myself unto you.”

Articles of Faith 2 says; “We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.”

If you’re a member of the LDS Church simply take a moment here and think about these two prophecies that Joseph Smith gave the people.  This is probably one of the clearest inconsistencies which qualify as a false prophecy in the Church.

Various

Spirit of man sexually begotten by Heavenly Father

Latter-day Prophets Speak: Selections from the Sermons and Writings of Church Presidents, Book 5; “There is not a person here today but what is a son or a daughter of that Being. In the spirit world their spirits were first begotten and brought forth, and they lived there with their parents for ages before they came here. This, perhaps, is hard for many to believe, but it is the greatest nonsense in the world not to believe it. If you do not believe it, cease to call Him Father; and when you pray, pray to some other character. -Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses 4:216, February 8, 1857

Spirit of man not created

Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 158; “The spirit of man is not a created being; it existed from eternity, and will exist to eternity. Anything created cannot be eternal; and earth, water, etc., had their existence in an elementary state, from eternity. Our Savior speaks of children and says, Their angels always stand before my Father. The Father called all spirits before Him at the creation of man, and organized them. He (Adam) is the head, and was told to multiply. The keys were first given to him, and by him to others. He will have to give an account of his stewardship, and they to him.”

So, out of the last two prophecies which one is correct?

Commanded to Eat Raw Meat

1 Nephi 17:2, 12; “And so great were the blessings of the Lord upon us, that while we did live upon raw meat in the wilderness, our women did give plenty of suck for their children, and were strong, yea, even like unto the men…For the Lord had not hitherto suffered that we should make much fire, as we journeyed in the wilderness; for he said: I will make thy food become sweet, that ye cook it not.”

Exodus 12:9 says just the opposite:  “Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.”

Which one is from God?  If you say the book of Nephi then what God has said in Exodus is a lie and vice versa.

No Such River

1 Nephi 2:8; “And it came to pass that he called the name of the river, Laman, and it emptied into the Red Sea; and the valley was in the borders near the mouth thereof.”

Smith claims all the books he wrote came from direct revelation from God or he “translated them through the spirit of God”.  The book of Nephi is the first book in the Book of Mormon.  No river has ever emptied into the Red Sea.  Not now, not ever.  This is a false prophecy.

Trust in God or Man?

2 Nephi 28:31; “Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man, or maketh flesh his arm, or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost.”

Jer. 17:5; “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.”

Follow the Living Prophets, pgs. 110-111; “…the Lord taught the Saints that they were to “give heed unto all his [Joseph Smith’s] words and commandments which he shall give unto you as he receiveth them…Numerous other canonized scriptural statements also attest to the ongoing need for additional revelation, through living oracles, that may expand or constrict previously revealed principles and programs and provide interpretations and applications of canonized scriptures to modern-day needs and circumstances…”

First we have the problem of 2 Nephi 28:31 plagiarizing the prophecy Jeremiah gave to Judah.  Secondly, we have the problem of changing the original prophecy, the most significant part being; “and whose heart departeth from the LORD”.   And last but certainly not least, 2nd Nephi contradicts what the book “Follow the Living Prophets” says.

It saddens my heart to see how they’ve indeed gone to man for additional revelations that may “expand or constrict previously revealed principles and provide interpretations to modern-day needs”.

The Church is Infallible

Divine Authority, or the question:  Was Joseph sent of God?, pg. 3; “If the Latter-day Saints are not what they profess to be, one thing is certain, that no one ever will be able to confute their doctrine by the scriptures; however imperfect the people may be, their doctrine is infallible. Can this be said of any other people who have existed on the eastern hemisphere during the last 1700 years? No.”  Written by Orson Pratt.

Orson Pratt was an apostle in the church.  Based on this website alone this prophecy is false, not to mention the hundreds of other sites on the net that prove the doctrines of Mormonism to be false.

The Church is Infallible

Journal of Discourses 24:185; “There has been no lack about this work. Its principles have withstood all that has been brought against them. They stand unshaken because they are founded on eternal truth. The whole clergy of the world may array themselves against them, as they have to a certain extent; they may endeavor to controvert these principles, but they are founded on truth and they cannot be overturned. Not a single principle that has been declared or been testified to by the Elders of this Church from the beginning up to the present time can be assailed successfully by any religionist, nor by scientific men, because they are impregnable, having had their origin in God…There are no mistakes to be corrected connected with it, either with its doctrine, with its organization, or, with its movement.

This prophecy was given by George Q. Cannon on Sunday, July 15, 1883.  It would be proven a false prophecy less than seven years later by the Edmunds-Tucker Act of 1890 which prohibits polygamy.  It may seem that this is excluded because he said “nothing can be assailed up to this present time”.  The truth is that if it originated from God it wouldn’t have been overturned.

United States to be Overthrown

Latter-day Prophets Speak – Selections from the Sermons and Writing of Church Presidents; “I prophesy, in the name of the Lord God of Israel, unless the United States redress the wrongs committed upon the Saints in the State of Missouri and punish the crimes committed by officers, that in a few years the government will be utterly overthrown and wasted, and there will not be so much as a potsherd left for their wickedness in permitting the murder of men, women and children, and the wholesale plunder and extermination of thousands of her citizens to go unpunished, thereby perpetrating a foul and corroding blot upon the fair fame of this great republic, the very thought of which would have caused the high-minded and patriotic framers of the Constitution of the United States to hide their faces with shame. -Joseph Smith, Jr., “Historical Record,” p. 514, May 18, 1843.”

It has been 160 years and five months from the time of this writing back to the time of the prophecy of the US to be overthrown.  I wonder what the people thought when the prophet’s prophecies didn’t come true?  I usually receive the answer that “he just wasn’t speaking as a prophet that time”.

Moon and Sun Inhabited.

Oliver Huntington Journal, Book 14; also found in The Young Woman’s Journal, published by the Young Ladies’ MIA, 1892, 3:263-64 and Journal of Discourses 13:271 by Brigham Young.

In 1837 Joseph Smith prophesied to Oliver Huntington; “Inhabitants of the Moon are more of a uniform size than the inhabitants of the Earth, being about 6 feet in height.  They dress very much like the Quaker Style and quite general in Style, or the one fashion of dress.  They live to be very old; coming generally near a thousand years.  This is the description of them as given by Joseph Smith the Seer.

Journal of Discourses 13:271-2; “Who can tell us of the inhabitants of this little planet that shines of an evening, called the moon? When we view its face we may see what is termed “the man in the moon,” and what some philosophers declare are the shadows of mountains. But these sayings are very vague, and amount to nothing; and when you inquire about the inhabitants of that sphere you find that the most learned are as ignorant in regard to them as the most ignorant of their fellows. So it is with regard to the inhabitants of the sun. Do you think it is inhabited? I rather think it is. Do you think there is any life there? No question of it; it was not made in vain.

Recorded in the Journal of Oliver B. Huntington was the account of Joseph Smith’s prophecy about the inhabitants on the moon.  The Church actually printed the copy of his journal in two different church authorized manuals; The Young Woman’s Journal and the Young Ladies MIA as late as 1892; obviously giving their approval.  Mormons will say that Smith wasn’t speaking as a prophet at the time, but notice in the Journal of Discourses the way that Brigham Young backs up Smith’s prophecy and adds even more to it!

Location of Garden of Eden

Answers to Gospel Questions 2:95 lists a question from a member of the Church and the answer that is given by Joseph Fielding Smith, the tenth president of the LDS Church, son of the sixth president of the LDS Church, Joseph F. Smith.  In this particular “Q & A” I found his answer so unbelievable that I had to share it with the public.

“I have a friend who is interested enough in the doctrines of the Church to ask many questions. From someone she obtained the information that we believe that the Garden of Eden was in the state of Missouri, and she asked me about it. I had always understood this to be what we believe and I told her so. She wanted to know how we explain what is in the Bible, where it tells about the river in the garden which divided into four more, the Pison, Gison, Hiddekel, and Euphrates. We know where the Euphrates is today, and the Bible map shows that the land of Havilah is located in Ethiopia. Could you please explain our views?”

The first thing that struck me as odd with this volume of work is why the members are writing to Church officials to ask why there are discrepancies and how to explain them to non-members.  It’s like they are asking their leaders how to lie.  And why doesn’t she open her Bible to find out the truth for herself?

Answer: The rivers spoken of in Genesis and in the Book of Moses are rivers that existed when all the waters of the earth were in one place. If all the waters were in one place, then obviously all the land was in one place. This was before the days of the flood. In Genesis we read:

And God said, let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place and let the dry land appear: and it was so. (Genesis 1:9. See also D. & C. 133:22-24.)

Tell me, if all the waters of the earth were in one place, how could there be any rivers?  I understand the land mass hadn’t been divided yet, but how could all the waters be in one place?

According to the revelations of the Lord, Noah and his family in the Ark sailed… from some place evidently in what is known now as America, and landed at Ararat thousands of miles away…Without any question a considerable distance separated the point where the Ark commenced the journey and where it landed…The land surface was in the process of division into continents. The rivers mentioned in Genesis were rivers that existed in the garden of Eden long before the land was divided into continents and islands. (Genesis 7:11.)

The only part that is reasonably truthful is that the Ark landed at Ararat.  The Bible does not disclose the place where the ark landed.  This subject wasn’t even part of the question and they’re adding more lies to the lie they’ve already told.  Let’s read on to see what else they have to say:

NATURAL TO NAME PLACES AFTER FAMILIAR LOCATIONS  It would be the most natural thing in the world for Noah, after he arrived at his destiny in Ararat, to give names to rivers and to country, similar to the names with which he was familiar when his journey in the Ark commenced. It is the custom even today for explorers to name countries and rivers after familiar points and streams in their native countries. We are informed that there are great ancient river beds buried in the land of Missouri. Therefore the River Euphrates in Asia took the name naturally.

????  This explanation is based on “customs” and presumptions.  There is no historical or biblical proof this took place.

Remember also that not too many centuries after Noah landed at Ararat, the entire land surface of the earth was changed and divided, and what had previously been one grand continent, was broken up into many continents and islands. So it is impossible for us today to know exactly what changes were made in that world catastrophe. (Ibid., 10:25.)

It’s interesting to note that the Church in this particular case (Gen. 10:25) relies on the Bible to be translated correctly…

Of course we rely definitely on the word of the Lord to the Prophet Joseph Smith. In one of the revelations given to the Church, May 19, 1838, the Lord said, speaking of a certain point in Missouri known as Spring Hill, in Daviess County:

ADAM-ONDI-AHMAN, because, said he, it is the place where Adam shall come to visit his people, or the Ancient of Days shall sit, as spoken of by Daniel the prophet. (D. & C. 116. See also Sec. 78:15.)

Of course there is nothing in the Bible that speaks of this, not to mention that Adam is never referred to as the Ancient of Days.  That term belongs to Jesus (He is our judge who sits on the Throne of Judgment Dan. 7:9) ready for that great and dreadful day.  The above teaching from Joseph Smith is a false prophecy.

We also read in Section 107: Three years previous to the death of Adam, he called Seth, Enos, Cainan, Mahalaleel, Jared, Enoch, and Methuselah, who were all high priests, with he residue of his posterity who were righteous, into the valley of Adam-ondi-Ahman, and there bestowed upon them his last blessing.

And the Lord appeared unto them, and they rose up and blessed Adam, and called him Michael, the prince, the archangel.

Nowhere in the Bible does it mention that Seth, Enos, Cainan or any of the others held the priesthood.  Secondly, I thought Adam was the Ancient of Days according to Smith; now he’s Michael the prince, the archangel?

Notice how far off the subject matter this fellow goes when answering this woman’s question:

And the Lord administered comfort unto Adam, and said unto him: I have set thee to be at the head; a multitude of nations shall come of thee, and thou art a prince over them forever.

And Adam stood up in the midst of the congregation; and, notwithstanding he was bowed down with age, being full of the Holy Ghost, predicted whatsoever should befall his posterity unto the latest generation. (Ibid., 107:53-56.)

UNDERSTANDABLE TO THOSE WHO KNOW THE TRUTH

There is no difficulty when we understand the truth, that is, that while these rivers carry the same names, they are not the same rivers which were in the Garden of Eden.”

Wow, after all the filler words, we finally got to the bottom line and an explanation.  Mind you, their explanation is a false prophecy, but whew, look at all the other “stuff” mixed in to confuse the reader!

And then to let the reader know that only those “who know the truth” understand what they’re saying.  I remember those types of comments while being Mormon.  The one thing I clearly “thought I understood”:  I was stupid.

Three apostles never died

D&C 7:1-8; “And the Lord said unto me: John, my beloved, what desirest thou? For if you shall ask what you will, it shall be granted unto you.  And I said unto him: Lord, give unto me power over death, that I may live and bring souls unto thee… And for this cause the Lord said unto Peter: If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? For he desired of me that he might bring souls unto me, but thou desiredst that thou mightest speedily come unto me in my kingdom….And I will make thee to minister for him and for thy brother James; and unto you three I will give this power and the keys of this ministry until I come. Verily I say unto you, ye shall both have according to your desires…”…

To summarize, they have claimed that three of the apostles never died; James, John and Peter.  Of course just the opposite is true. We have historical as well as biblical accounts which serve as proof that all three did in fact die.

James was the first apostle to be martyred circa 44 AD.  James, the brother of John was present at the transfiguration and then journeyed to Judea, Samaria and Spain to spread the gospel.  Herod ordered James’ death at which time the guard was converted by his testimony of Jesus.  Thus the guard was beheaded as well. (1)

John died peacefully on Patmos circa 100 AD after being arrested while living in Ephesus.  While his brother James was the first apostle to die, John would be the last.

Jesus referred to John and James as the Sons of Thunder.  He was a disciple of John the Baptist and traveled with Jesus on His first tour through Galilee.  He was present at the wedding in Cana (John 2:1-11) and owned a home in Jerusalem where it is believed the interview with Nicodemus took place.

He was the one the Bible refers to as ‘the one whom Jesus loved’, he was present at the raising of Jairus’ daughter (Mark 5:37) and at the transfiguration (Matt. 17).  At the crucifixion Jesus placed Mary into John’s care.  He moved to Ephesus before the destruction of Jerusalem and was subsequently arrested and exiled to the isle of Patmos, off the coast of Turkey.  (2)

Peter was the first to acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah and was given the promise of authority in the new church.  (Matt. 16:15-17).  Although he had a moment of betraying Jesus during the arrest and crucifixion, Peter was the first to believe that Jesus had risen from the dead (1 Cor. 15:5).

He survived nine months in the Mamertine prison cell.  This cell is said to be the pits of hell, no other torture chamber has ever been made like Mamertine.  He was manacled in an upright position to a wall while never being able to lie down to rest.  During this time he glorified God and brought numerous converts into the fold of Christianity.  Jesus alluded to the way in which Peter would die in John 21:18.  From all that history tells us he was crucified in Rome upside down believing he wasn’t worthy enough to die in the same manner as the Lord, circa 67 AD.  (3)

Now the reason I took a side road in explaining the demise of the three apostles was to serve three purposes.  One, to show that D&C 7 is a false prophecy.
Two, to show that the church was indeed operating very well after Jesus’ death, therefore proving there was no need for a “restoration”.

Thirdly, I am praying that by studying the true, historical facts it may dispel the darkness of the lies in Mormonism as well as inspire the members of the LDS Church to find out more information for themselves.

And then there are the obvious questions…

If the original apostles never died; where are they; why the need for a restoration?

What purpose does it serve the Church to have this as “scripture”?

How does it cause growth in the faith of the members?

Also see 3 Nephi 28:1-8 for the same story.  The entire chapter is filled with speculations by Smith as to where the three disciples lived and how their bodies were sustained for the past 2,000 years.

No temple built in Independence, MO.

D&C 84:4 & 1 Nephi 3:7; “Verily this is the word of the Lord, that the city New Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation.”

And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.”

Here we have two false prophecies.  First of all there was no temple built in Independence, MO within a generation.  If we’re real generous and say that a generation is 100 years instead of say 40 years, it still qualifies as a false prophecy.  The prophecy was made by Joseph Smith on September 22-23, 1832.

Secondly, the verse from the Book of Mormon is proven false based on the verse in D&C.  While the subject matters are totally different in D&C 84:4 and 1 Nephi 3:7 it shows that somebody’s lying:  God, Nephi or Joseph, your choice.

Zion was not to be moved.

D&C 97:19; “And the nations of the earth shall honor her, and shall say: Surely Zion is the city of our God, and surely Zion cannot fall, neither be moved out of her place, for God is there, and the hand of the Lord is there.”

They believed that Zion was in Missouri at this time.  Zion has been moved toUtah.

D&C 101:17; “Zion shall not be moved out of her place, notwithstanding her children are scattered.”

Again, this is in reference to Zion being inMissouri.

United Order should be everlasting.

D&C 104:1; “Revelation to Joseph Smith, April 23, 1834. History of the Church 2:54-60. Verily I say unto you, my friends, I give unto you counsel, and a commandment, concerning all the properties which belong to the order which I commanded to be organized and established, to be a united order, and an everlasting order for the benefit of my church, and for the salvation of men until I come.”

United Order to be dissolved.

D&C104:47, 53; “And now, a commandment I give unto you concerning Zion, that you shall no longer be bound as a united order to your brethren of Zion, only on this wise.”

Therefore, you are dissolved as a united order with your brethren, that you are not bound only up to this hour unto them, only on this wise, as I said, by loan as shall be agreed by this order in council, as your circumstances will admit and the voice of the council direct.”

Apparently Smith said that God wanted the people to “pool” their monies and properties for the rest of time and eternity and they would call it “United Order”.  The prophecy was first listed in verse 1 of this section of the D&C.  By the time verse 47 and 53 happened it had obviously been “for all time and eternity”because God dissolved their united order.

Who’s in Charge?

D&C 112:15; “Exalt not yourselves; rebel not against my servant Joseph; for verily I say unto you, I am with him, and my hand shall be over him; and the keys which I have given unto him, and also to youward, shall not be taken from him till I come.”

Obviously this cannot be true!  Smith was gunned down in June 1844.

Missionary doesn’t make it to the mission field.

D&C 114:1-2; “Revelation through Joseph Smith, Far West, Missouri, April 17, 1838. History of the Church 3:23… that he may perform a mission unto me next spring, in company with others, even twelve including himself, to testify of my name and bear glad tidings unto all the world….”

History of the Church 3:170-1; “Captain Patten then ordered a charge, which was instantly obeyed. The parties immediately came in contact, with their swords, and the mob were soon put to flight, crossing the river at the ford and such places as they could get a chance. In the pursuit, one of the mob fled from behind a tree, wheeled, and shot Captain Patten, who instantly fell, mortally wounded, having received a large ball in his bowels.

Patten was one of the disciples.  Smith prophesied that Patten would go on a mission the next spring, but Patten was killed in a gun fight just 6 months later without being able to fulfill that prophecy.

Who is Oliver?

D&C 117:12; “And again, I say unto you, I remember my servant Oliver Granger; behold, verily I say unto him that his name shall be had in sacred remembrance from generation to generation, forever and ever, saith the Lord.”

Have you ever heard of Oliver Granger?

Where is the judgment?

Joseph Smith’s Testimony 1:45; “He commenced, and again related the very same things which he had done at his first visit, without the least variation; which having done, he informed me of great judgments which were coming upon the earth, with great desolations by famine, sword, and pestilence; and that these grievous judgments would come on the earth in this generation. Having related these things, he again ascended as he had done before.”

This is the account of Moroni’s second of three visits to Smith in one night. The “these grievous judgments would come on the earth in this generation is what qualifies it as a false prophecy.  One generation would be 40 years and that is being generous! The prophecy supposedly took place on September 21, 1823; that was 180 years ago!

All About Polygamy

God Condemns Polygamy.

Jacob 2:24-27; “Behold, David and Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord…Wherefore, I the Lord God will not suffer that this people shall do like unto them of old. Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none.

D&C 132:39 says; “David’s wives and concubines were given unto him of me, by the hand of Nathan, my servant, and others of the prophets who had the keys of this power; and in none of these things did he sin against me save in the case of Uriah and his wife; and, therefore he hath fallen from his exaltation, and received his portion; and he shall not inherit them out of the world, for I gave them unto another, saith the Lord.

Again, contradicting Mormon scripture and Mormon prophecy qualifies itself to be placed in the category of false prophecies.

Polygamy (plural marriage) banned

D&C 132:4-6 says; “For behold, I reveal unto you a new and an everlasting covenant; and if ye abide not that covenant, then are ye damned; for no one can reject this covenant and be permitted to enter into my glory.  For all who will have a blessing at my hands shall abide the law which was appointed for that blessing, and the conditions thereof, as were instituted from before the foundation of the world.  And as pertaining to the new and everlasting covenant, it was instituted for the fulness of my glory; and he that receiveth a fulness thereof must and shall abide the law, or he shall be damned, saith the Lord God.

This is the “prophecy” of polygamy.  Polygamy was outlawed in 1890 through the Edmunds Tucker Act.  If they did not abide the law of multiple wives then they were going to be damned by God, if they did practice it then the state of Utah would lose their bid for statehood.

All About Race

The Race Issue

In regards to the 1978 revelation, Mormon Doctrine, pg. 527 says; “In all past ages and until recent times in this dispensation, the Lord did not offer the priesthood to the Negroes. However, on June 1, 1978, in the Salt Lake Temple, in the presence of the First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve, President Spencer W. Kimball received a revelation from the Lord directing that the gospel and the priesthood should now go to all men without reference to race or color.

Journal of Discourses 11:272; “The Lamanites or Indians are just as much the children of our Father and God as we are. So also are the Africans. But we are also the children of adoption through obedience to the Gospel of his Son. Why are so many of the inhabitants of the earth cursed with a sin of blackness? It comes in consequence of their fathers rejecting the power of the Holy Priesthood, and the law of God. They will go down to death. And when all the rest of the children have received their blessings in the Holy Priesthood, then that curse will be removed from the seed of Cain, and they will then come up and possess the priesthood, and receive all the blessings which we now are entitled to.”

Moses 7:7-8; “And the Lord said unto me: Prophesy; and I prophesied, saying: Behold the people of Canaan, which are numerous, shall go forth in battle array against the people of Shum, and shall slay them that they shall utterly be destroyed; and the people of Canaan shall divide themselves in the land, and the land shall be barren and unfruitful, and none other people shall dwell there but the people of Canaan;  For behold, the Lord shall curse the land with much heat, and the barrenness thereof shall go forth forever; and there was a blackness came upon all the children of Canaan, that they were despised among all people.”

Pure or White?

2 Nephi 30:6; “And then shall they rejoice; for they shall know that it is a blessing unto them from the hand of God… and many generations shall not pass away among them, save they shall be a pure and a delightsome people.

Up until 1982 this verse used to say:  “…save they shall be a white and delightsome people.”

What is the meaning of “white” and what is the meaning of “pure”?  Why change it if it’s “the most correct book ever written”?  Also, the Sioux, the Cherokee, Navajo, Eskimos and other indigenous Native Americans are still the same color they’ve always been!

Also see Mosiah 18:5; “Now, there was in Mormon a fountain of pure water, and Alma resorted thither….”

Does this theory still stand true?  Could we use the word “white” instead of “pure”?

Blacks and Whites are Saved

2 Nephi 26:33; “… and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembered the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile.”

The above selection is an example of how they’ve had to change doctrine because of false prophecies.  Blacks weren’t allowed to hold the priesthood in the Church until 1978 because they had sinned in the pre-existence.  They weren’t supposed to ever have the priesthood or hold any status in the Church until AFTER all of Adam’s offspring were done being born.  It’s also a classic example of why the members of theLDSChurch are always confused.

Negroes Under Restriction.

DoS 2:55; “The only souls coming to this world who are under restriction are the Negroes, and they cannot hold the priesthood; but Negroes may be baptized, and we have many Negroes in the Church. Therefore, by what right or reason are we going to deprive innocent children whether they are black, brown, or yellow who die in their infancy-innocent and without sin-from entering the celestial kingdom? If a Negro can receive the celestial kingdom by baptism, and the Chinese, Japanese and all other races, where would there be consistency in saying that any children, because they are born under adverse circumstances, should be deprived of entrance into that kingdom? It seems definitely clear that the Lord means exactly what he said to the Prophet Joseph Smith.”

All About the Book of Mormon

No Changes to the Book of Mormon

Answers to Gospel Questions 2:200; “…Copies of the first edition of the Book of Mormon are in the Historian’s Office library, and it bears witness that no drastic changes have been made.

There have been thousands of changes in the Bible in recent years, but people do not seem to complain about that. We have books in our library written by an atheist who treats the Bible in the same spirit which these critics treat the Book of Mormon, but his criticism does not prove the Bible false. We all know that there are contradictions in the Bible and many misinterpretations, but we do not go about finding fault and condemning the Bible because these things occur…

Most Correct Book

History of the Church, vol. 4:461; “The Prophet’s Estimate of the Book of Mormon.

Sunday, 28.—I spent the day in the council with the Twelve Apostles at the house of President Young, conversing with them upon a variety of subjects. Brother Joseph Fielding was present, having been absent four years on a mission to England. I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.”

It should be stated here that to date there have been over 4,000 changes made to the Book of Mormon since its first printing in 1830.  These are not typographical changes; they are grammatical in nature, which changes the meaning of the text!

All About Joseph

Joseph the Translator

In the LDS publication of the Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pgs. 348 and 371 we catch a quick glimpse at some of Joseph Smith’s handiwork as a translator.  He took the liberty to change “the very first sentence in the Bible” of the account of God’s creation of the earth.  It is incredible to me time and again how easy it was for him to outright lie and people believed him!

Here is an example; from pg. 348 of TPJS it says “I will make a comment on the very first sentence of the history of the creation in the Bible—Berosheit. I want to analyze the word. Baith—in, by, through, and everything else. Rosh—the head. Sheit—grammatical termination. When the inspired man wrote it, he did not put the baith there. An old Jew without any authority added the word; he thought it too bad to begin to talk about the head! It read first, “The head one of the Gods brought forth the Gods.” That is the true meaning of the words. Baurau signifies to bring forth. If you do not believe it, you do not believe the learned man of God. Learned men can teach you no more than what I have told you. Thus the head God brought forth the Gods in the grand council.”

So let’s take a moment and really “analyze” this.  In the Hebrew from Genesis 1:1 it says;

“In the beginning” in the Hebrew:  re’shiyth.  Transliteration:  beginning, first, chief, choice part.  It is taken from the root word “rosh” which means chief, total, sum, height, front, beginning, head (of man, animals), top, tip (of mountain), height (of stars), chief, head (of man, city, nation, place, family, priest), head, (front, beginning).

“God”: in the Hebrew is ‘elohiym. Transliteration:  (plural) rulers, judges, divine ones, angels, gods, (plural intensive – singular meaning), god, goddess, godlike one, works or special possessions of God, the (true) God, (the fullness or Deity) God

“Created:  in the Hebrew is bara’.  Transliteration:  to create, shape, form (Qal is type of voice tense) to shape, fashion, create (always with God as subject); of heaven and earth, of individual man, of new conditions and circumstances, of transformations; as found in Gen. 1:1. (Niphal, voice) to be created, of heaven and earth, of birth, begotten, of something new, of miracles, as in Gen. 2:4, Ex. 34:10.  (Piel, Arab. future), to cut down as with a sword, Ezek. 23:47; wood with an axe Josh. 17:15, to form or to fashion, to cut out, to plane, polish, Ezek. 21:24.  (Hiphil-voice) to make yourselves fat – 1 Sam 2:29.

“ ‘eth ”: (this is a contraction which appears in the manuscripts – sign of the definite direct object, not translated in English but generally preceding and indicating the accusative).

“the heaven”:  in the Hebrew is shamayim.  Transliteration:  heaven, heavens, sky visible heavens, sky as abode of the stars, as the visible universe, the sky, atmosphere, etc., Heaven (as the abode of God)

“and”:  in the Hebrew is ‘eth.  See above.

“the earth”:  in the Hebrew is ‘erets.  Transliteration:  whole earth (as opposed to a part),  earth (inhabitants), land, country, territory, district, region, tribal territory.

Now with our “language class” behind us we can see how Smith has twisted these words around to fit his agenda!  It is imperative to know which mood, tense and voice the language is speaking from in order to have a full/complete understanding of the meaning.  Keep in mind he did all of these changes in just one verse of the Bible so we can just imagine what took place with the rest of it!  Something else to remember; the members of the Church enjoy “bragging” about Joseph only having a 3rd grade education.  They will tell its members they must have an education because knowledge is one of the keys to salvation and yet… (4)

The “enemies” are still here!

D&C 121, intro and verse 15; “Prayer and prophecies written by Joseph Smith while a prisoner in the jail at Liberty, Missouri, March 20, 1839. History of the Church 3:289-300.”

Verse 15: “And not many years hence, that they and their posterity shall be swept from under heaven, saith God, that not one of them is left to stand by the wall.”

The above is in reference to Joseph Smith’s enemies.  What do the terms “done with” and “not many years hence” mean?  According to the Church today I would be considered an enemy.

Joseph’s “enemies” outlives him.

D&C 127:2; “And as for the perils which I am called to pass through, they seem but a small thing to me, as the envy and wrath of man have been my common lot all the days of my life; and for what cause it seems mysterious, unless I was ordained from before the foundation of the world for some good end, or bad, as you may choose to call it… It all has become a second nature to me; and I feel, like Paul, to glory in tribulation; for to this day has the God of my fathers delivered me out of them all, and will deliver me from henceforth; for behold, and lo, I shall triumph over all my enemies, for the Lord God hath spoken it.”

This is such an obvious lie!  Joseph was killed in a gun battle while jailed in Nauvoo, Illinois in June 1844.

exalted but by knowledge. So long as a man will not give heed to the
commandments, he must abide without salvation. If a man has knowledge, he can
be saved; although, if he has been guilty of great sins, he will be punished
for them. But when he consents to obey the gospel, whether here or in the world
of spirits, he is saved. (HC 6:314.)
.”

Also on page 203 it says; “I did not like the old man being called up for erring in doctrine. It looks too much like the Methodists, and not like the Latter-day Saints. Methodists have creeds which a man must believe or be asked out of their church. I want the liberty of thinking and believing as I please. It feels so good not to be trammelled. It does not prove that a man is not a good man because he errs in doctrine.”

I in know way judge a man’s faith, but, this need’s to be told! Joseph Smith who brought to light the book of mormon was also a Freemason. And some time
after he translated the book of mormon, he was studying the Bible and He came
to see that only certian Holy Angels were named to people to prevent men from
worshipping angles. And Joseph Smith came to know that the angel(s) that
helped him with the plate’s were unholy angel’s. He delivered a letter denouncing the book to the church leader’s and also to the Masonic Order
which lead to his death at the hand’s of the mormon leader’s. And a person who
is seeking the Truth is willing to search can find the letter in the mormon’s
private paper work and other’s who have copies of the letter. The letter was
checked by expert’s in the field of handwriting and was declared to be written
by Joseph Smith! If a person so desires and does research can find the Truth!

How can this be verified as truth? Need to know how i can use this info to help some one who is convinced that the lds church are teaching truth.

      Hi James!
Well there’s always a reference to each posting and every single thing said by any of the leaders.
The next time you’re having a conversation with a Mormon friend/loved one ask them what they think of the info you saw and how that fits in with what the Bible says. Tell them that their opinion matters to you and it’s important to the Lord!
Keep us informed and know that we’re praying for you and your friend!
      With Love in Christ;
