False Prophecies of the Mormon Church

Patriarchal Blessings

“You Have a Noble Birthright”, Ensign, May 2006, 106; “You are in a season of your life when you are making some of your most important decisions. Because you are being bombarded with so many incorrect messages about who you are, you need some additional guidance. You can learn more about your life and mission on earth and the light that is in you by preparing to receive and then studying your patriarchal blessing.” – Julie Beck

Colossians 2:9-10; “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:”

If we are complete in Jesus why would we need additional guidance?

“Because you are being bombarded with so many incorrect messages about who you are, you need some additional guidance.”
Well, the LDS is the one ‘bombarding their own people as there are so many contradictions in their works. Who could understand them?

We Christians KNOW who we are without question. I have a quote from a sermon from one of our Pastors, a retired prof. at the seminary, Dr. F. Harm.
    ” Why be a Christian?
Because God tells us who we are,
He tells us why we are here,
He tells us where we are going
    and how to get there…”

We read in the Bible that we get to heaven by JESUS ONLY! We are God’s children, redeemed by the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross. We know for SURE that we will go to Heaven and be with Him.

It seems to me that the patriarchal blessing is one more added thing just to hold the members in. Like all the oaths, and so forth, it’s just to make them more solidified with the LDS. It appears that if the member gets this blessing, he may feel more as ‘one ‘with Mormonism.

All these rites, blessings, and things that are learned and earned, appear to make it more difficult for the person to want to question things and, it would follow, then leave Mormonism.
