False Prophecies of Mormonism

Who or What has Existed Eternally

Joseph Smith – Seeker after Truth, Prophet of God, pg 158; “Here Joseph Smith again broke with existing false traditions. It had been taught that God created the earth out of nothing, by the fiat of his word. Instead, Joseph declared that the earth was made from existing materials. That is, the earth was organized rather than created. Latter-day Saints always speak of the “creation” of the earth in that sense.” – John A. Widstoe

Colossians 1:16-17; “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

All created things needs a creator which by default means the creator had to be in existence before the created thing.

Joseph Smith “broke with tradition” and taught these things with no knowledge of God or His word. Smith’s contempt for the Lord is clearly seen in his teachings and denunciations of God’s greatness.

My questions are quite simple.

What traditions are we speaking of specifically?

Exactly what was false about the term ex-nihilo?

Smith’s upbringing and his syncretistic views of God can clearly be seen and felt in every aspect of Mormonism.
