False Prophecies of Joseph Smith

Conversion of the American Indian Peoples

D&C 3:3, 16-20, (1828); This passage in the Doctrine and Covenants is Joseph Smith’s prophecy that the Lamanites (Indian people) will all be saved.  This prophecy was given in July 1828.  In D&C 3:3 it says; “Remember, remember that it is not the work of God that is frustrated, but the work of men”. Here’s proof that this prophecy and work is of Joseph Smith and company and not God.  If God’s work cannot be frustrated then the Mormon god would’ve saved these people by now. It’s been 183 years since that prophecy and the Lamanites haven’t been saved, and the majority of those who do convert leave Mormonism within a year after conversion.  See www.cumorah.com for statistical facts on retention rates in South and Central America.

Deut. 18:22; “When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”

It’s pretty evident from Smith’s own words and the God’s warning this is a false prophecy and the results of this are for us to disregard the false prophet.

    D&C 16-20 does not say what you are implying it says;

    16 Nevertheless, my work shall go forth, for inasmuch as the knowledge of a Savior has come unto the world, through the testimony of the Jews, even so shall the knowledge of a Savior come unto my people—

    17 And to the Nephites, and the Jacobites, and the Josephites, and the Zoramites, through the testimony of their fathers—

    18 And this testimony shall come to the knowledge of the Lamanites, and the Lemuelites, and the Ishmaelites, who dwindled in unbelief because of the iniquity of their fathers, whom the Lord has suffered to destroy their brethren the Nephites, because of their iniquities and their abominations.

    19 And for this very purpose are these plates preserved, which contain these records—that the promises of the Lord might be fulfilled, which he made to his people;

    20 And that the Lamanites might come to the knowledge of their fathers, and that they might know the promises of the Lord, and that they may believe the gospel and rely upon the merits of Jesus Christ, and be glorified through faith in his name, and that through their repentance they might be saved. Amen.

    By what authority do you tell God what His time line must be?

      I would also like to know that if God is required to fulfill this prophecy within two hundred years, why have the Jews not yet been restored to their inheritence and brought to faith on Christ. That was prophecied 2000 years ago, and the majority still aren’t converted.

    Where in the Bible does it say that ALL the Jews would believe and have faith in Christ?

      Where in the Doctrine and Covenants does it say that all the Lamanites believe and have faith in Christ?

      In neither case is an actual number, or any indication of percentage given. Each is a statement regarding a people, or race; thus both imply a majority of that race, as such would be needed to make the claims that are made.
